IIRC, Flaherty chose to not sign an extension and wants to go to arbitration. I am pretty sure this is basis for Cards’ fans view that he wants out.

I may be off on some of this, but it’s something like that.
And at this point it looks like passing on a long term deal was a pretty big mistake on his part. The guy cant stay healthy,

I do find it entertaining that we blame how bad we are because the Cards don't spend money. But the teams that did spend (Yankees and Mets) are also f***ing god awful as well.

Tampa making EVERYONE look like chumps!
Only 2 of the top 5 highest payrolls in the league are in a playoff position at the current time and thats SD and LAD. Philly, Mets, and Yankees are not. Yankees are last in their division and Mets and Philly are 3rd and 4th in theirs.

Oh no we didn't sign Rodon.

Oh he's injured.

Oh no we didnt resign Q.

Oh, he's injured too.

2 good comeback wins, Gorman should be playing everyday. It is idiotic to not let Contreras catch.

I don’t necessarily agree on Gorman, instead of having him overmatched against two lefties with great stuff when he struggles against lefties, the team was able to insert him against a pitcher he had a much better matchup against and it paid off

Funny story. I was just at Target behind a lady who had a Gorman Cardinals jersey on.

She and I chatted for a bit and it turns out she is the mother of Gorman’s girlfriend.

Just looked him up. Makes sense cuz he’s from Phoenix and went to a good buddy’s HS. He’s from a super nice area.
Both him and Liberatore grew up together as friends in Phoenix.

First inning was rough with all the walks, but after that Flaherty looked like 2019 Flaherty. Would love to see that more often.

Also, just play Gorman every game regardless handedness of pitcher. He’s too good of a hitter to keep on the bench. He’ll never get better at hitting lefties if he isn’t given the chance to face them.

Yup. Gorman's the LH power bat they've been dreaming about adding to the lineup. Play him everyday regardless of who's pitching.

Guess it's time for the optimistic side. With Goldy, Arenado, Gorman, and Noot, and others that are pretty decent hitters, well have the runs to win games and get some streaks. If Walker finds his stroke, that's a mid-season boost.

Still need to find a few starters though. Liberatore should getsome action.

Bases loaded nobody out and don’t score. That’s more like the Cards we’re used to. Guarantee the Brewers score this next half inning. Not a doubt.
