should have swept them but taking 2/3 from a good team is always nice.

Burleson is so underrated. If he does get sent down, it'll be a numbers game and not anything he's done. People can see the easy power, but it's his sheer hitting ability that puts him above others. He doesn't have the arm for anywhere other than left, and he doesn't have that much range, so first base is probably a better option defensively (not that he's going to do anything but spell Goldschmidt on very occasional days off, lawl), but when you can hit the ball like he can, you find a place, much like Gorman, much like Walker.

he can play 1B right? If so, that increases his versatility and allows him to sub in for Goldy for days off.

The most important thing is to not wear Goldy down like he was in September last season. Same goes for everyone else as well but especially Goldy and Arenado.

He actually looks like he has an idea of what to do at the plate this year. Last year he would swing at everything indiscriminately.

he was probably trying to do too much to earn playing time. They just need to play him nearly every day. He needs to play some 2B once per week too. And maybe once every couple weeks at 3B to give Arenado a rest too.

Burly and Carlson look good too. Carlsons wrist was jacked up last year. He looks healthy. He’s a damn good player. We have 5 really good OF’s for 3 spots. Somebody will get moved at some point. Need them all healthy and playing well to increase their value.

that would be great if he can play 1B. I wasn’t aware of that.

Yeah, Burleson played first base in college (and also pitched in college; he was the John Olerud award winner in his draft year). He's been an outfielder for us, but I bet he could also play first if necessary.

Perfect

Offense looks great, pitching is still pretty suspect and will need deadline additions to be truly competitive. Love the homegrown guys mashing. Randy Flores and his group of scouts are awfully good. Chip Carey has done a good job as well. I will miss Danny Mac’s calls in big moments, but Chip is a very serviceable replacement.

Can someone tell Brad Thompson he doesn't have to continuously speak. Like dude doesn't know how to stop talking. Chip was good for the first series so far.

It’s crazy to think how good this lineup is…meanwhile Wynn snd yepez are still on AAA

if we can get another stud SP and maybe a more consistent veteran to rent the rest of the year in hicks role, with Gallegos, helsley and our lefties this could be a dominant team

Brad Thompson truly is horrendous at his role. But so is Jim Edmonds.

Al was much better than them both.

They need 2 legitimate top end starters to do anything in the postseason. Relying on Flaherty for a 162 game season is insane and Wainwright is on his retirement tour. Matz is nothing to write home about either.

It would be great news if Gorman has a great season. He's also a big time prospect, just not Walker level, so he's always had this ability, and it would take quite a bit of pressure off of Walker. This lineup has big time potential, just has a handful of question marks. If Donovan has more power and Gorman is a better overall hitter, then I like our ability to score a lot of runs.

Let’s start with atleast acquiring one lol then go from there. Ace, Flaherty, mikolas/Waino/Montgomery could have a nice playoff run in them, not sure how or what it would take for a 2nd ace but I doubt we acquire two this season.

Maybe a Bieber trade this year and then sign one of the top free agents with wainwrights $$$?
