Yes iam a leaf fan .
Thanks

Tanev a comparable for him
Not sure of a comparable but just your average big defensive d man imo. Tanev could be ceiling, yes. Was voted the best defensive d man in the east last year at just 17 and 2nd in shot blocking. 3rd hardest worker too.

Roobroeck will not be back. Gens need to take him off their roster on the OHL site.
Generates wishful thinking.
He was about to be sent back the first week of October after starting with 0 points in 6 games. Then he had 6 points in 6 games so they gave him another look and bumped him up to the top 6 for 3 games. But since the bump up to the middle 6 he has 1 point (an assist) in 8 games.

So anyone who says they know definitively one way or the other, I know is full of shit because it'll entirely depend on how he looks the next week or so. He would already be back if he didn't go 6pts in 6 games. If he does that again, he won't be back obviously. If he keeps putting up 0s for another week, Gens think they will get him back. So much so that the rumours are they've moved their big D target from Konnor Smith to Andrew Gibson because they don't think they'll have an open OA spot anymore

I hope Oshawa goes with Isaac Gravelle tonight give him a chance vs a bad team on a non back to back because you have London Saginaw on the road can give oster both of those games

It sounds Gravelle is getting the nod tonight so I'm told.

Wang making his debut on the top pair with Danford. Griffin is back tonight but Rogowski out after leaving hurt last game. Oster not even dressing

Sennecke and Barlow combine for a total of 8 points against Dave Cameron's Ottawa 67s in the ultimate middle finger game for being omitted from Team Canada tryouts.

Very Understanding it was Wang’s first game in the O and he’s young, but hopefully he has more to offer than what he showed tonight because that was a very ugly game for him. Sure he had a couple hits that will happen when you are 6’4. Turned the puck over several times & got caught out of position a handful of times, his skating is very poor. Could likely be just some nerves but by far the worst D on the ice tonight coach was screaming at him in the 2nd to stop getting caught out of position.

Thoughts from the Ottawa game:

-Simon Wang was as advertised. Skates so well for how big he is, which anyone who knows anything about hockey can see right away. Had a bad turnover for a goal against in the 2nd but that'll happen with any rookie. He looked more and more comfortable as the game went on and had multiple shifts in the 3rd where he rushed it from his own zone and easily gained the OTT zone because of how good of a skater he is. And he'll light guys up physically which we've all been asking for more of from this Gens team.

-Colby Barlow with another 2G and now has 16 points in his last 15 games (11 goals). The guy who's always scored at a really high rate is scoring at a really high rate. Who saw this coming!! He's on pace for 32 goals this season now, even after the slow start.

-Beckett Sennecke, Colby Barlow and Luca Marrelli combine for 10 points to stick it to Cameron right away. Sennecke now has 11 points in last 2 games lol.

-Luca D'Amato looks engaged again. He's back jumping up into the play and being a positive player on both ends of the ice, which he wasn't for the first 25 games of the season. I still don't think he's an OA on this team post-deadline but he's definitely a player in this league and should be able to find another team for him to land on.

-Two extremely evenly talented teams tonight with 1 World Junior roster invitee each yet in a tie game the Gens didn't let Ottawa even get a shot on net for the last 19:30 of the 3rd period. Very impressive 3rd period.

-Gravelle had a couple soft ones against that he needs to stop but overall made some big saves including a huge breakaway save 30 seconds into the 3rd which prevented Ottawa from making it 5-3 and instead Barlow goes down the other way and scores 10 seconds later to tie the game 4-4. That was the biggest play of the game

-Big moment late in the 3rd when the game was already over where Wang blows by Mews with his big frame and high end skating combo, Mews has to take him down to prevent a breakaway, and then Mews cross-checks him well after the whistle. I got on KGN last game for not protecting their guys and said that is what winning teams always do and right when Mews crosschecked him you saw Buckley, Barlow and Marrelli all come flying in saying that wouldn't fly. You love to see those types of things backing up their younger players. Wang clearly valued that when he got back to the bench and gave Buckley props as he was going down the tunnel. Doesn't always have to be O'Toole doing that, which is good to see

I loved when Wang made a hit in the corner and the entire bench stood up and cheered him on. You could just see that this is a tight group. Oh except for some star player that everyone hates apparently lol.😂. Comment of the year there.

For those who watched Wang in his first OHL game, he was not impressive in King, and I think you are expecting too much of him if you think he will be a game changer. Yes he's 6'6". But he doesn't use it effectively. He is not physical for that size. Yes he is a good skater. But his bad decision making more than offsets that. Personally, I think he lacks intensity and hockey IQ. Maybe they can coach him in Oshawa, but that is suspect for me.

But 25 NHL scouts a night came to see him and rate him as a late first round early second round NHL pick. I’d say he was impressive in King. Obviously he is 17 and in a giant frame for a kid. But what I saw was a nervous start to connecting to OHL speed to third period very noticeable in a good way. He did make good decisions in the third. Made the right choice to rush. Knocked bodies older and stronger than him around. This kid is going to be good. Your opinion fine. As so is mine.

Both can and are true. He has elite upside that will make him a game changer down the road and he needs to work on his decision making in the D-zone. Is the case for the majority of the high end 17 year old D-man

Exactly. People expect all junior players to be perfect. They’re going to make mistakes. Pros make mistakes. I felt his decisions were much better in the third when he got the speed of the game down. But now he goes on the road against the best team in the league where speed and decision making will end up in the back of the net. Let’s see how he adjusts. But he is here to be developed and this kid has some raw talent. Imagine this kid under DJ Smith in year two or so. He was great at raw talent development.

And the only thing that matters, the 55 game* point streak on the line!

*not including the important games like the the playoffs and the Memorial Cup
I think Easton would care more about the W.
Why can’t we have fun with a point streak? I know if one of your guys had one this long going we would see you pumping it all over the place

Hope these two teams can rematch in the OHL finals in 2025

It has been stated regularly and understood that it is a "regular season point streak" . Not sure why grumpy oshawa dude has to crap all over a pretty damn impressive performance.

Good Old Gensupdate would be on "X", Facebook, Bluesky, threads, Instagram, SnapChat, even LinkedIn every day , countless times a day letting everyone know how amazingly incredible it was if a General was close.

Cowan is still hurting and was not quite himself last game. He lacked the speed he normally has.

Looking forward to seeing how Barlow performs this evening. The Knights have made a history of taking him out of the game, albeit that was while playing for the Sound. There are far more weapons on this Gens side that we have to worry about.

Without looking at the stats, I would imagine both teams are going to want to stay out of the box tonight with the weapons that will be out there!

Good luck!

I'm not sure if "I stalk you on multiple platforms" is the dunking on me you thought it was. But hey man, logos are just targets!

Barlow has 12 goals in 14 games against London the last 2 seasons, so statistically it appears that is inaccurate that they have a history of taking him out of the game
