In a shortened season, stability may very well be key. It should no surprise no one if Bozak is once again centering the first line between Kessel and Lupul, for both lack of a better option and his chemistry with both players. For the second line, I've opted to re-unite 'Mac and the USSR.' With Kulemin playing well in the KHL, it would be worth seeing if they could regain that old chemistry. That would inherently bump JVR to the so-called third line, which has some firepower itself. I expect Frattin to be the first Marlie up by virtue of his playoff run last year and his strong play since returning from his knee injury a couple weeks ago. This line has the potential to be a strong line along the boards which in turn might open up some space for Connolly, who we still have under contract (as many seem to have forgot). On the 4th line, both Brown and McClement will likely play, leaving one spot open. I've put Komarov there, because he's actually played this year and the Leafs will likely try to give him a shot at some point. Lombardi and Steckel would be healthy scratches initially, with Kadri as the first injury call-up.
On defense, Phaneuf and Gunnarsson will probably be our first pairing again. Second pairing would be Liles and Komisarek, followed by Kostka (who has exceeded expectations with the Marlies) and Holzer. Gardiner is out with a concussion, while Franson is still an RFA.
Reimer and Scrivens will be the goalies barring any moves.
