So satisfying watching the Rags lose to the Kraken. They are in serious trouble and it’s looking like they will miss the playoffs . Which is kinda bad in a way because I wanted to crush them in a playoff series and watch their fans implode .

Grubauer was HORRIBLE again today.

Goals 1, 2 and 4 were all woefully bad. That was almost as bad as the game he played against the Sharks last week.

Their season is (probably) over if Daccord is injured for more than a few games. They're already 14-14-1.

If Dano were watching that game I can already hear him going ''Wow! Grubauer is just...I mean, this guy really sucks! I can't understand how the Devils didn't hang TEN on him on Friday night!''.

Yeah watching those highlights WOOF. Ranger fans are mad at Quick today but Grubauer was worse

There were I think 3 tips on Quick if I'm not mistaken. I watched the highlights about 20+ minutes ago now. There was maybe one goal Quick should have had. But it was a one timer, it was very far out. I didn't nail him on it though.

I don't know how the Miller goal went in. It wasn't tipped by Trocheck who I think was in front. He's not credited for that goal, I think it just beats Grubauer from a really dead angle and far out.

I don't think Smith tipped the first goal before it got through Grubauer. The initial shot by Miller just leaked through him and Reilly Smith cleaned it up in the crease.

The Chytil goal seemed like a pretty fairly routine glove save.

And another goal for Wright. I think I’m done tuning into neutral Ranger games. I’ve put them on I think 5 times and 3 of those times they scored right after I turned the game on. Today I put it on and like a minute later Chytil scored. Shut it back off before Sam could even finish his call
I had this power over Flyers games. They always came back if I started hate-watching while they were losing.

I stopped doing it and they haven’t made the playoffs in years! (Yes, there has to be some direct correlation there, that’s just science.)

Hard to see the Rags missing the playoffs unless more bubble teams stop sucking.

If TB holds and the Flyers win tonight, they'd be out and I think Drury is gonna make an ever dumber panic move if they lose the Hawks/Sabres games

I think the Rangers are having a mini-rebellion against management . If Drury doesn’t sit down with Kreider it won’t help but at some point the players will realize they are being paid and need to try hard. Signing Shesterkin was a step towards righting the ship. They will bounce back to some extent in my view even if they don’t regain their best form. The middle of the East is so mediocre so far that as you’ve noted it’s not like any other team is making a push right now

It's not a rebellion, lol. Their guys are legit scared to play because Drury is acting like some dictator, there's one thing to trade guys who are bad and then the way he's doing shit. Goodrow was their best player in the Florida series (LOL) and the dude wasn't even aware of his situation till it fully happened. Players don't like that shit. As much as I rail against the Palat deal, I don't want them to do that type of stuff because it has an effect on the roster. People can point to Vegas or Tampa Bay being cut throat but those teams have had the benefit of doubt of a Cup/overall team success, NYR doesn't and thus it doesn't work as well.

I don’t see any effort or emotion. The same guys who have guaranteed contracts and years of NHL success aren’t suddenly scared in my view. Some of it is their core aging but when was the last time they had a good team effort? I don’t think it was against Montreal. In any event they are someone else’s problem.

Shesterkin can and will win them a series if given a chance, more or less regardless of who else shows up.

Maybe we'll get lucky and that'll be the Canes problem r1, though
Isn't that the Canes problem every other year?

EDIT - Oops, you said in round 1. Yeah, it's been years and years and years and years since they played a round one playoff series. Have they ever faced off in round one? Maybe not, or maybe not since Hartford?

They played in the stupid covid play-in pre-round one in 2020, where the Canes swept them.

Id give it a try also

Really not interested in giving up good assets for rentals which likely takes out guys like Palms/Nelson from the equation. Hall’s lack of production should make him a cheap add and he’s still creating a good amount of offense. He should also look way better here.

Would love him with Timo and Nico. I personally don’t think this part is relevant but it also gets Timo back to the RW which so many people are enamored with. Then you have Noesen playing the Palat role but actually doing it successfully. While I’ve been loving Noesen with Timo-Nico (dumb breaking that up) I think the idea of him with Jack-Bratt is perfect. I don’t really want a skilled 3rd wheel there that they have to share the puck with. Noesen would basically never have to touch the puck besides cleaning up in front and he can go to work winning the puck back for them so they can work their magic

Oh boy the Rangers are down real bad. How awful. :|

Also, I’m not taking Hall at a $6 million cap hit. Maybe if he were cheaper, or if the Hawks retained the maximum allowable amount… but that would mean the price would go up.

The Hawks have to eat that contract 50% lol, it's a given with deadline deals now.
