Zacha was never gonna work here, like My3Sons said, he coasted too much here. Reminds me a bit of JT Miller where he coasted a ton in NY, and even TB, then became a monster in Vancouver. Zacha's not obviously not at that level but getting traded definitely is a kick in the ass for some guys. Also doesn't hurt he's on one of the most well coached rosters/vet teams in the league

Yegor with goal #26. He's having the breakout year we were hoping for last season.

Was never gonna get PP1 or even PP2 time here. I actually think Shara on this PP1 would fix quite a lot but it is what it is.

Rango still scoring 50% more often on shots than he did in NJ. I’m not saying guys can’t take better shots but that’s a pretty big jump.

And even so, he’s basically doing what he did in 2022 except seeing time on the PP (which is one of the worst in the league)

He kinda got bundled on that back check too on the 5-1 Florida goal. If Shara was still here, I'd probably pull Bratt and put him or Timo on the half boards to give a one timer option opposite Jack and pull Luke off for Nemec. But alas, he's not lol

Markstrom don't look too good against Florida.

The 2nd Senko goal was rough

Markstrom lets in a lot of stupid looking goals, but more pucks hit him than any of the clowns we've had this year and either of the two who are on the way.

The only reason why I'm not 100% against him is that he's had a pretty clean bill of health in his career. He doesn't have any back/hip issues so he should be fine regardless once he comes here in the summer if he does

Torts just got knocked out of the game. He also looks like some bookie took the trunk door to his hand.

Anyways, the East could very well play out where we get these matchups

Fla-TB
Bos-Tor
Car-Det
NYR-NYI

Carolina Detroit would be worse than 17-18 NJD TB. Florida in 6, Toronto in 6, Carolina in 1, Isles in 7

Massive failure we couldn't take advantage of how weak the rest of the Metro has been outside the top 2

Yeah, it was a catch 22. It's gonna be a long summer seeing the playoffs and it was super there for the taking. But at the same time, these players better take it as a wake up call and the management. Nico and Bratt are the only guys who've been good all year.

Detroit apparently saw Philly all but giving away their playoff spot and were like, that looks like fun! 5 straight losses and they've been outscored 25-8 in those 5 games.
They even lost like 5-2 to Arizona lol.

Apparently Washington and us aren’t the only teams that actually lose to Arizona. They just outwork all of us.

This is gonna be very out of character for me, but I will be fine with the Islanders taking that playoff spot from Detroit.

Can’t stand this Detroit team and I can’t stand the Yzerman worship.

Actually, I would be more than fine with the Islanders taking that spot. I would be elated if they took out Detroit.

Both teams suck.

What a joke that two of the Flyers, Red Wings and Islanders will be in the playoffs and we won’t be.

The Flyers deserve it most for actually being a hard-working team and not having some fluky percentages. Though I think the fact they don’t have these fluky percentages with that roster is a fluke in itself.

You'll get Washington and the Isles in the playoffs and like it lol

I mean of the Flyers/Red Wings I find it more likely the Red Wings stay up, the Flyers' schedule and being due for regression work against them but by the same token I can't see any of the other teams making a run. Not that I really see the Caps making a run but they're one of the few teams that seems to want to try to make the playoffs. The Isles are just stubborn enough to muscle out enough points to get in.

Islanders are going to overtake Philly at this rate. Then will get crushed by Carolina

I can see that too tbh, but let's hope we can push the Rags down the standings by winning our 2 games left v them. Isles will bruise the Rags for a Carolina series even if the Rags win
