I mean once again, our schedule is an issue in the sense the teams are very good. The Devils play to their opponent so maybe their schedule is a benefit lol.

Assume it’s gonna be them or the flyers in that metro 3. Kinda rather see isles tbh. Philly in drivers seat if they can pick up points bc their schedule is brutally hard just like the devils. But yeah the whole race for that spot being what it is and the devils not sniffing it is a pathetic embarrassment.

This game is probably going to be an outright slaughter like that Whalers-Devils game at the Meadowlands in 1994 where ZZ and a few other roster players were dealt (and Burkie had the flu). The demoralized Whalers went through the motions worse than I've ever seen a team go through and got shut out 4-0 and putting up something like 9 shots (Marty only got 3rd star IIRC). Only highlight was meeting Chuck Kaiton and Ted Drury after the game.

I vaguely remember this game, only because it was on my friend's birthday and we went. The guy that I talk about on here who snowbirds on the other side of the state from me and still has season tickets and flies up for some of the home games.

I had to look it up for confirmation, but it was actually March 10th. His birthday is on the 11th, so it was the night before his birthday.

It was actually Terreri that had the shutout for us that night. Frank Pietrangelo was in net for the Whalers that night. I was still in high school.

Looking at the gamelog, we jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first 8:47 of the game on goals from Corey Millen, Bobby Carpenter and a shorthanded goal by Tom Chorske. John MacLean scored one more in the 3rd period.

Both of us were actually at opening night in Hartford 1995 after the lockout ended. I'm not sure if that was Hartford's first game of the season, but it was definitely the Devils first game of the season. It ended in like a 2-2 tie. I remember a lot of fans were excited about the Jimmy Carson signing the prior offseason.

I'd have to think Sullivan is a goner either way.

Because they're either gonna blow it up (not likely) and go with someone else or they're gonna try again with this core and maybe someone to replace Guentzel and Dubas is gonna hire his own guy.

I'm starting to think Dubas may not be long for this job and he may very well be a casualty in the next year or so.
