Any chance the Flyers lose to the worthless Hawks? I can’t believe that team has 15 wins. I was thinking more like 12. They didn’t even beat us either time, so that’s really saying something.

And Detroit even has them in a few more games.

Short answer, no

It's such a shame this dogshit Flyers team is gonna be free series win for the Canes/Rags
I don't understand how they're good. I think odds are they won't be this good next year?

You can honestly use the hard working meme with them.

They don't have poor metrics numbers like the Islanders, Capitals or Red Wings, but the real question is how do they have good metrics to begin with?

Basically an underdog team every year where they barely sneak in after being thought to be dogshit, aka us in 17-18 but they don't have a Hall

I honestly don't want the team to lose but there is a very real internal struggle right now. My heart wants them to win but my head is telling me that missing the playoffs is best for this team long term. It's a pretty tough spot to be in as a fan. It's been a while since I've felt conflicted about the team like that. I either never want them to lose or am on the tank bandwagon. Not this weird in-between state.

Flyers are likely out of our reach

Tampa is our best chance tbh with a head to head on Sunday and a couple games in hand already
In terms of game back they are now 2.5 of the Flyers, 2 back of the Red Wings and and 1.5 games back of Tampa. Essentially they are right back to where things were prior to Saturday.

All three are still in play. They have two games in hand vs Tampa and Philly and still have a head to head against each (with the Tampa game on Sunday). So it is in their hands right now.

The challenge of the schedule. If you just go be the “should beat” and “have to beat” teams the rest of the way, that only gets you to 90 points. The team needs to start punching above them while taking care of business below.

TLDR: The Devils probably need to go on a 5-6 game winning streak before the end of the season.

No one is out of reach. We are chasing three not good teams, they are going to lose enough. They are going to lose enough games for us to catch them.

The problem, and it's been the problem all season, is we can't string together a good long win or point streak.

OoT is a waste of time to worry about. The most important factor for our odds is our own games

So do we think after Lou is let go by the Islanders that maybe he comes back here in a similar role to what Bill Torrey had with the Panthers the last several years of his life? I'm not talking about when the Panthers first became a team and Torrey was legit in charge. I'm talking at the end? Or at least up till a few years before his death.

And I meant to post about this a month ago when I first heard the comment, but I LOL'd at the comment Varlamov made when they hired Roy. He said something like ''I had chills when I found out Roy was becoming our head coach''.

The coach that threw him (and a few other guys) completely under the bus in his last year in Colorado? Because I remember Roy being asked if Varlamov was the right goalie for the team and he said something like ''I'm not sure'' in what I think was his last year there.

I just now found it.

They asked Roy at the end of the 15-16 season if Varlamov ''Made the difference'' in goal and Roy answered ''No''.

That was after a .914% season, which wasn't great for that time period, but was I think right at league average that year.

I would have chills in a bad way if I were Varlamov and Roy was coming back to coach me. Guy is a douchebag and always has been.

What in the world are you rambling about Bleed lmao
Varlamov's comments when Roy was hired as head coach by the Islanders were that he ''Had chills''.

But at the end of Roy's last season with Colorado, he was asked if he thought Varlamov ''Made the difference'' for them in goal that year, to which Roy replied ''No''.

I know people move on and worse breakups have been mended, but that was a pretty damning comment from Roy about Varlamov, after a season in which he wasn't great, but also not particularly bad.
