Let Rempe have his 15 minutes of fame. Hopefully he gets overplayed and then when he's doing nothing or scratched in the playoffs the same people sucking him off now will be silent.

He averages 3:46 for a game, I don’t see him getting overplayed.

He’s literally played 15 minutes in 4 games.

He’s the luckiest goon on earth to get a goal out of his 3 shots.

Look at this piece of shit team. These guys and the Capitals are on miracle runs

You’re wrong bro.

You just need to hydrate yourself with some of that Yzerade to take the edge off.

My guess is they won’t be good next year. Probably below the playoff line. I thought they were finally spinning out earlier this year back in like December, but the Husso injury literally saved their IMO.

They let Lyon start playing basically all the games. They didn’t even let Lyon start a single game until November 17th and he was healthy the entire time.

Once Husso got hurt they let Lyon roll with him. They gave Husso another start after he came back, but he hurt himself again literally in his first period back.

Beldar wouldn’t stop playing Husso. He needed at least the rest of this year to see if Husso was really actually bad, because 2 of his first 3 seasons in the league weren’t enough to convince him.

Signing Alex Lyon to be their third goalie is a key reason why. It's a move NJ might have to do next year, go into camp with 3 guys expecting to get NHL starts. Possibly roster 3 goalies all year.
Maybe he’s one of those weird goalies that was nothing in his 20s at the NHL level and finally put it together in their early 30s, at least for a few years. Like Carter Hutton and Scott Clemmensen.

Calvin Pickard suddenly looking decent too this year with NHL games.

Lyon showed well for the Panthers last year, Yzerman signed him to a 2 year deal, under the AHL buried cost (so if he had to waive him it would cost his cap nothing, and he would be unlikely to be claimed) to be his third goalie in case Husso/Reimer failed. That happened and Lyon is basically saving their season. The goalie signed to a one-way NHL deal that you can bury in the minors at no penalty is another way to get a solid 3rd goalie (e.g. Martin Jones) other than having a waiver exempt young talent.

To borrow a term from Jim, it's an absolute disgrace we are not better than the pens or th flyers. This game is so full of low talent plugs that try hard. It's so clear that they are ahead of us because they play a cohesive system tailored to their players. We should skate circles around teams like these.

The league mandates that teams play a very disciplined defense first approach to have sustained success. They don’t need to play hard hitting hockey but they have to keep the opposition honest and battle past the clutching grabbing and holding the league still allows and start doing a lot more of that to the opposition.

It would be really nice for the league to tell refs call the game by the rulebook for the entire game. We are well into game management territory in the flyers pens game. Rust gets cross checked in the upper back, with the puck nowhere close, and as he's falling forward Hathaway steps into him, again with the puck nowhere close. Rust leaves the game, no penalty, and the broadcast is talking about how it's just a tough, hard play. Absurd.
