2 stoppable goals on Georgiev and it's a game now.

The Georgiev loyalty might get them ousted in round one by Hellebuyck.

I said it on the main board on that series talk thread but that Jets v Avs is very eerie to us v NYR last year. Devils + Avs have the better/faster roster with the shitty goalie v the Jets / 2023 NYR being older/slower with an elite goalie.

I badly wanna hunt down that Avs fan (don't remember their name) that made a chest pounding post about how the Rangers traded the wrong goalie in 2022, because Georgiev had what's by far a career year last year. It's not like Georgiev also played behind the same Rangers team the same year Shesterkin played god, while Georgiev played peasant.

And his career year last season came behind the same team where a 30-something year old injury case (who I think is retired now after he got hurt yet again) that had two bad hips and two bad knees posted passable numbers.

I'm surprised they went right back to Georgiev today after they pulled him yesterday.

All the talk of Georgiev being a top-10 goalie coming into this season was a joke. Then again, there really aren't ''Top-10 goalies'' anymore. There's maybe a top-7 or 8 goalies and the rest are spread over several different tiers.

I didn't even have Georgiev in the tier after that because he had a mediocre career until last year. And that mediocrity has resumed this year.

There's the natural stoppable goal hat trick on Georgiev to tie the game

Make a save

This is like watching Vitek this year.

Georgiev is Russian Vitek

Lol, beat me to it @Bleedred

The thing with Georgiev was that when he played a ton on NYR that he had a pretty good record/stats, it's just that he was stuck with Hank/Shesty in front of him. Anyone who thought he was better than Shesty must've been on some good drugs lol

I don't honestly think Georgiev is any better than Vitek. Both are ordinary goalies of the highest order.

Vitek was worse this year than any year Georgiev ever had, but I still think he was having mental issues after the disaster that was his playoffs last year, and losing his job and then us coming back to win 4 of the next 5 to win the series with him on the bench.

Both had career years last year. Georgiev's was a little better. I'd think playing behind last year's Avalanche team was still a bit easier than playing behind our team last year, who weren't really that hard to play behind like this year's team.

I will root for Edmonton mainly 'cause of Henrique.
If he will win SC, he will not sign for cheap because of SC dreams with his first team.

I'm assuming these are even strength/5 on 5 only? As both goalies have a significantly lower overall save percentage this year than those numbers.

In their careers, I don't think they're too far off at all.

Vitek this year was worse than any year Georgiev has ever had, and Georgiev last year was certainly better than any year Vitek has ever had.

Calgary really stinks. Losing 5-4 after two periods at home against the Utah Coyotes. Brutal. If the Flames don’t win tonight, they have no chance at finishing with a better record than the Devils.

They aren't really 'locked' into anything just yet although yes it's the most likely outcome they win the division (and don't pass the Rangers/Canes winner) and have to play the Lightning.

I also didn't realize they had FIFTEEN OT losses before looking at the standings lol, just one short of the OTIslanders. Whereas the Rangers have four. And people still think they're overrated.
When I saw they had 15 OT/shootout losses, I laughed a little bit because it feels like they've been stuck on 15 OTL's for a month now.

So I went through their schedule and it looks like their last OT or shootout loss was all the way back on March 5th, almost 6 weeks ago.

The new fake meme of the week that will be pumped by the media is that Arizona rallied around the news of the team being moved to Utah and that's gonna be the reason why they won a few games in the last week of the season lol. That'll be the feel good story of the week.

You know I like to compare five on five because it’s most of the real stat. SV in Pk isn’t sustainable - it’s more about how good teams are playing, pp - same story, because if goalie will miss goals in pp it’s because breakaways and sh1tty structure.

Overall Georgiev is better and more stable, but still not a very good goalie overall. Little above average.

Still not a problem fo AVS at all. Because good teams are doing well with average goaltending or even below average. Carolina were in playoff when they played with sh1tty goaltending. Markstrom even with his best this season couldn’t push them into the playoff, now he is pure bad.

Good news, these games have a 3rd period.

They’ll still likely end with a worse record though.

The Flames can beat the Sharks in their final game but can they find a way to get 1 point in Vancouver? I’m not counting on it but ya never know.

Seattle would have to get 3 points in games at Winnipeg and Minnesota.

Of course this is contingent upon losing to the Islanders in regulation. If that doesn’t happen and Buffalo loses tomorrow night in Tampa, then the Devils will fall to 11OA.

It’s technically possible to finish as high as 8OA but I think the most likely scenario is 9 or 10OA.

Were you talking just for this game because of the PP for Vegas? Or heading into the playoffs?

Limping into the playoffs, Georgiev is blowing up at the worst time. Looks like they need a massive reset before Saturday night or whenever they start lol

We don’t have to worry about any of that until we see what the results of our game is tonight.

For that reason it's next to impossible for me to care about losing for one or two lottery spots since we don't even know if tonight's game will ultimately matter in 'that'. And it might wind up mattering in an inverse way depending on which spot wins the lottery in the end lol
