I don't think we have the players in the top 6 willing to go to the net....Timo sure.... gets real thin after that. The others only do the sneak in, beyond that, none of them have ever displayed the willingness to fight in or near the blue paint....even our bottom 6 rarely is in the paint. We need top 9 players who do that
I never heard that term before...it made chuckle.Kuznetsov going to be enjoying them nose beers tonight
Fair enough. Fundamentally I think a lot of our lack of physicality was coached. There was a high emphasis on angling (on defense) and rush offense. I’m hoping the next coach can emphasize more finishing checks and building a cycle / net front game
Goalies are so voodoo. I wouldnt be surprised if Andersen or Varlamov went on a Tim Thomas 2011 kinda run for 20 games or lets in 8 goals a game. I feel like literally any average to good goalie can go on a run in this league but being great consistently is harder to find.
I miss Palms. Such a warrior. He’s not the biggest guy but he goes to the net hard every game. Doesn’t care about people hitting him.
Thomas stuff was just a throw in but more so what I meant was that pretty much anyone can get hot and have great playoffs and then go full pumpkin next year. Hill had .906 and then put up .932 in the playoffs next year. Thats more so what I meant. Average goalie, gets hot, goes back to average this year.A healthy Andersen is a top tier goalie, his performance mostly slipped due to injury.
He’s been money since he started playing again in early March.
A “Tim Thomas 2011 kind of run” is a big ask though since NHL averages are: 3.11 G/GP, .903 SV %, and 2.91 GAA.
The seasons where goalies had crazy statistical playoffs runs were pretty much all in the Dead Puck years where goaltending numbers were better and goalscoring was down.
I’m bandwagoning Bruins (lived in New England for years) but I will NEVER root for Zacha with how much he floated around his last year hereI'm rooting for Zacha!
He always looks like he's floating.I’m bandwagoning Bruins (lived in New England for years) but I will NEVER root for Zacha with how much he floated around his last year here
It surely was. Everytime we would pull the goalie we'd let in a goal 30 seconds later. So Toronto won 40 games and Bruins 42. NJ won 38. Biggest difference is obviously loser points

And the Sharks and the Caps and some other bad teamsyeah and sucking ass against the anaheim ducks
Hey now! Caps are a playoff team..And the Sharks and the Caps and some other bad teams

He’s a fraud. He wouldn’t do that to a much bigger meaner player.Domi needs to be disciplined. Punch in the back of the head is chicken shit
