Will say if the devils lost the ecf and Edmonton was waiting for us in the cup finals I would be pissed. Yeah we aren’t panthers level good but man oilers are just so meh.

Edmonton simply made too many glaring, horrible mistakes in the second period to win this game. While Bobrovsky made key saves, it wasn’t him so much stealing the game as Edmonton blowing defensive assignments or turning the puck over in a manner as bad as we did time and time again last year.

The bad drop pass by McDavid to Bouchard at the blue line, who fumbles the puck leading to goal #1 with seconds left in the first period.

Skinner leaving his net and flubbing the puck leading to goal number 2. Hello Vitek.

The turnover to Bennet and tic tac toe from Tkachuk on goal number 3.

The breakout with stretch pass for the Barkov 2 on 1 goal. That’s #4.

You just can’t give Florida those chances and expect to win. Edmonton wet the bed tonight. They’ll learn from this series like Florida learned against Vegas last year.

Ok I was originally rooting for the oil at the start of this series, but screw it, go for the sweep that will really be a long lasting memory....

The ESPN crew that called the game was an unbelievable embarrassment. They were so quiet and sulking after Florida took a commanding lead, they all but called game over with five minutes left in the second period.

Edmonton scored to make it a two goal lead with 13 and a half or so minutes left. Me and my brother were like uhhhhh oh shit the games not over, tons of time left and these shithead announcers were lulling us to sleep holy crap. All of a sudden it’s a game and these dipshits wake up, oh wait the Oilers can tie it up, what funcking embarrassment to the league. Just a horrible way to call a game.

Edmonton deserves to be swept for hiring that moron who wears a bunch of t-shirts and dances while taking them off and throwing them. Insane that guy made a living out of that, the Devils had hired him for a season during one of the last seasons at the Meadowlands too.

Absolute waste of money .

Get out of here that guy is still doing it? How you know he’s there?

They showed him doing his gimmick during the broadcast tonight and I see him a few times at something every year. Such a ridiculous scam so kudos to him for convincing people to actually pay him for it.

Yeah the Panthers are the clearly superior team here. Obviously the goaltender is part of that but I have no doubt that even if the oilers had an upgrade in net they’d still wind up losing this series.

I thought the oilers would at least have a shot because of McDrai, frankly I’m kind of shocked a generational talent of that level has been neutralized to this degree despite having the cup so close within reach.

I called a sweep after game 2 and it’s looking quite likely.

I’m pretty sure McDonough was calling the game sick. He sounded bad and looked sick when in camera.

Anyways, anyone remember when Torts said Barkov > McDavid a few years ago?
Yes lol. I’ve been thinking about that ever since these two teams were gonna be the finalists. And how Torts will feel vindicated if the Panthers win.

Is he actually the same guy that did it at the Meadowlands? I can’t remember what the guy looked like. I figured it was just another guy they hired to do the same thing.

I don’t think Skinner did anything wrong in games 1 and 2, but he definitely deserves to be shredded for last night.

The second goal was completely on him and changed the game. He gave it away. That’s a 1-1 game and he does something like that and the Oilers trailed for the rest of the night.

He needed a save on that fourth goal.

I almost wonder if we see Pickard in game 4 to try to keep it alive, but they wouldn’t let Pickard play after Vancouver had them on the brink.

Man.... maybe it was a good thing we missed the playoffs this season.

Florida would've smashed us to pieces.

Let them sweep and get their CUP so that their hunger is no longer there.

I don't care who you are....you accomplish a goal as lofty as winning the Stanley Cup, there will always be a letdown the following year.

It's human nature to feel SATISFIED and fulfilled (and it's very difficult to match the same hunger as other teams that didn't win).

I mean, yeah, he wasn't great. But give Florida credit for actually finishing those chances. That Tarasenko goal was way trickier than it looked with the puck rolling and he made no mistake. Edmonton keeps botching their chances and 2 goals (to that point) is much more unacceptable imo.
