Their core players are in the 30's and ghosts in the playoffs, Lafreniere looks good but he still needs to compile seasons to be considered a superstar.

Including playoffs Zibanejad has had 4 goals at 5v5 since Jan. 1. Six more years left on his deal.

This is mostly wishful thinking. It’s more likely he stays with them than leaves.

Also I doubt their core players start declining as early as next year. People here are constantly overestimating how quickly star players from others teams will decline.
