OOT Scoreboard 2023-24 playoffs

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. watching Zacha and he is the same player he was with NJ. Skilled defensively responsible mobile good penalty killer and happiest when he is just playing without attention on him. Had he been picked by NJ later in the rebuild they’d have been happier with him I think. He’s not a centerpiece and you will have a hard time convincing me he loves hockey but he’s a good if not great NHL player.

Why are you so convinced of this for the Islanders? They haven't won this game yet. Even if they do the series is tied at 1.

The Rangers might beat either of those teams (DEFINITELY beating the Islanders if they come out of this) next round anyway.

I was about to say this.

I’d have to think Carolina losing this round to the Islanders is gonna bring about some huge changes.

They could get away with something like that if they had actually won the cup recently or even a single damn game in the conference finals. They have not.

Boston is not a good team. I keep saying this.

If Toronto had a goalie, they'd probably win this series, and maybe even fairly quickly.

Boston are a wild card caliber team masquerading as a elite/cup contending this team. They aren't legitimately good this year.

Easily the weakest team in that division that made the playoffs. I think Tampa's better than they are.

Agreed, Boston sucks. Carolina and Florida are the class of the east, the Rangers and mayyyybe Toronto are in the next tier, and everyone else sucks.

If Carolina goes out early here, woah boy.

After this playoffs the Canes really have their work cut out for them to maintain this core

Because there’s something about this Carolina team that feels a little susceptible to getting upset (probably a lack of true star power and a lukewarm goal scoring threat offensively), and the Islanders feel like a team perfectly constructed to pull off a one round upset on a PDO bender.

I said this before the series started, and so far the games are kind of playing out as I expected.

I really really hope I’m wrong.

If Carolina can't finish off the Isles, what makes anyone think they'd beat the Rangers anyway? Not having Freddie was the excuse they didn't win the series two years ago, if he's gonna look like crap who cares?

Kuznetsov was out there for like 4 minutes. Dude needed to get off and let someone fresh come on while the Isles were gassed

He wasn't playing that well down the stretch and Varlamov was.

I don't really blame him for playing Varlamov, as long as he has a quick pull if it starts to go bad.

Varlamov is his boy from Colorado, which is weird because when asked if Varlamov had been a difference maker in the last year Roy was in Colorado, Roy straight up threw him under the bus and said no. Despite Varlamov not actually being bad that year.

Varlamov said he got chills when he heard Roy was their new coach this year too.

Islanders deserve to be down right now, what a disaster that last 10 minutes that was.

I think the Canes come back to bring it to OT, but I think they win in regulation if they brought it to 3-2 there.
