I hate the Bruins more than any team in any sport.

They threw their last 2 games to get this matchup and you would think that would fire up Toronto to not be their 1st round bye again, but nope!

Now I'll have to hear another 2 weeks of "I don't see anyone who can beat them" BS

2 fraud teams
The broadcasters pumping Jake Debrusk’s tires was hilarious. Give me a break.

No Boston fan I know has been other than consistently disappointed in him despite the occasionally flashy game. He’s their homegrown version of Pavel Zacha. (Wait . . . They have 2 of them?). The only thing consistent about his game over years has been it’s inconsistency.

And there is the broadcast: “He’s gonna get paid !!!! He’s gonna get paid !!!”

Yeah but please not by us. The guy is strictly an average middle 6 who will not push the needle for anybody.

Weren't the fans trying to get rid of him 2 seasons ago under the other coach? Or rather didn't he want to leave Boston also?

If they are hyping him up then they are trying to rid him or help him get a big contract (for another team)

Affirmative. Both. He wanted out and the fans wanted him gone. And he was benched. He’s had a rocky career in the dressing room.

Honestly, I'd take DeBrusk for the right price. Throw him on our 3rd line and he'd be fine here.

He battled with Cassidy, but I wouldn't put too much stock in that considering the whole team was done with Cassidy anyway. Bergeron and Krejci essentially retired because they had had enough of him and came back when he got canned.

It was great for my personal hatred. Bruins have "the greatest season in the history of everything that has ever happened on earth" when Cassidy leaves. Then they get bounced by the 8 seed Panthers and the coach they got rid of wins the Cup over that very same team. Mwuhahahahahah!!!

My schadenfreude meter was at 100% for that loser organization.

Sitting my ass on the couch for today's games and ready to laugh at these teams with y'all (granted our Devils sucked this year lol). Hopefully we get some OT games today yesterday was a lackluster start lol

the great pretenders

Pretty apparent that Jersey lacks the board play shown by Boston,Tampa and Florida
I agree but its also a coaching thing. We definitely have top 9 guys like Meier, Palat, Nico, Haula etc. who can play in a physical system but Devils as a team have shied away from physical contact.

I especially wish we could have a coach thats good at developing defensemen. Someone like Bahl I think will always be bit dumb, but if some coach made him use his size and add some snarl to his game he'd be a good 6/7 guy to have.

Ironically I am a huge Irving Fryar fan because I loved Nebraska back then ...it was funny his wife cut his hand with a knife before the Superbowl.
What are you like 80 old man? Irving Fryar? Didn’t he play in the late 1800s? I hope I’m never so old and out of touch. What’s next you are going to tell us that you remember Marcus Allen playing at USC?

Some of that can be attributed to coaching imo but yes they need to get to those areas more frequently, it's growing pains with this core. They'll get there, I don't mind their stars not doing it, but next to no excuses for our bottom 6 pieces to think they're Jack or Bratt

Would you look at that. Tampa does nothing for a period and scores the first chance they get.
When I saw shots were 7-0 at one point I said to myself ''Watch them score on their first shot''.

It wasn't their first shot they scored on but it was probably their first real scoring chance and maybe their fourth shot.

I don't think this would be a controversial opinion anywhere on the planet of earth, other than maybe in the Bobrovsky household or some relations of his, but I'm more confident in Vasilevskiy than Bobrovsky......Even the average, slower, injured at the beginning of the year version of Vasilevskiy that we saw this year.

I had the same thoughts. Tampa are so top heavy that no matter how good of a period you have, you give them one chance and usually it ends up in the back of the net. Their top guys are some of the most talented in the world and proven playoff performers. As long as Vasi can keep the games close they have a very good chance beating anyone even though I picked Panthers to win.
