He was with the Panthers for a long time, maybe from their inception? And then he was apparently fired in like 2009 or so by Michael Yormark, the guy that was trolling Devils fans during the 2012 playoff series. I don't remember what his role was with the Panthers, but he wasn't there very long and as soon as he moved to go do something else, Denis Potvin came back to do color commentary for the Panthers for about handful of years before retiring. He was with the Senators for the few years in between his Panthers stints.

He was okay early on, but he got really awful towards the end. He was a gigantic homer, would complain about every call against the Panthers or every non-call the Panthers didn't get.

And he even controversially went off about the Sedin's on one broadcast when the Panthers were playing the Canucks. I think he said one of them was classless and a low life. Of all the players to say that about, the Sedin's were really some of the last people you could say that about. Those two were every bit as likable as Patrik Elias.

They switched jerseys at will. If one brother got kicked out of the face-off circle he could go talk to the other and then come right back and take another face-off.

How the hell could Potvin tell if one of them was classless?

Maybe he didn’t use the word classless, somehow I thought I remembered him saying it. If you go to the very end of this video like the last 10 seconds he does call Daniel Sedin a lowlife.



And earlier during the mini-brawl he made some weird comment about how the Sedin’s were pointing fingers and they only use their fingers to lick peanut butter off their bread.

I don’t know what the hell that meant. I don’t know if that was some kind of weird innuendo or Swedish joke that I’m oblivious to or what. It was really weird though.

Lightning vs Ducks is really a weird game for TNT. I guess cause it was a Wednesday game which is TNT’s night and the only game on in this time slot in the entire league.

Or maybe because they wanted to showcase two of the very best goalies in the league in Vasilevskiy and Gibson going up against each other. Only Vasilevskiy isn’t even in this game.

And in the time I started to type this post elite goalie John Gibson allows 2 goals.

Lundqvist critical of Gibson on that second goal and his side to side movement over the last few years. Hank didn’t seem to like how his legs were and said it looks like a tough save, but he’s making it look tougher than it needs to be due to his side to side movement.

I wouldn’t give him a stoppable goal on it, but I immediately thought he looked like shit on it and played it poorly. And I’ve done that a lot over the last couple of years, despite not giving him stoppable goals on those.

Now if I didn’t know Gibson was bad, I probably wouldn’t take my microscope to something like that, but it’s because I know he’s now bad that something goes off.

I don’t give him stoppable goals for those because that’s confirmation bias and I don’t give stoppable goals to any other goalie on this, but it does make me think a lot with a goalie like Gibson and I start taking a microscope to his game.

Goal two that he scored, absolutely.

Goal one I thought was a poor (not terrible though) one on Halak. It wasn’t even that hard or quick of a shot. Just squeaked through Halak’s arm or just under it.

I assume you mean his second goal. The one that wasn’t initially called a goal on the ice and the horn went off about 20 seconds later after it was reviewed in Toronto to be a goal.

He gets a good bounce as the puck rolls to him and he quickly gets it right off into the top corner.

I actually had no idea that Adam Henrique is married to Steve Thomas’s daughter.

They just mentioned It on here and that Henrique is his son in law. I definitely don’t think they were yet married when Henrique last played here, or Dano would have likely told us all about it and how he loved his former teammate Steve Thomas, who was one of the most disappointing Devils ever.

f*** that guy. One of my most unfavorite Devils of all time. I loved how we eliminated his teams in the playoffs 3 times in 4 years after he left here. He was on both those Leafs teams and the Ducks in the 03 SCF. Where he talked a bunch of shit about us and then got to retire without ever winning the cup.

Man, I could never stand him. I didn’t like him 40 years ago when all that shit was new and I still don’t like him today.

He also had that big comeback hit in the 90’s.

I don’t know why this was, but I used to get him and Joey Ramone’s voice confused. I think I thought they were the same person. Keep in mind I’m like 6, 7, 8 years old probably.

I never again thought that as I got older, but for some reason him and Joey Ramone sounded alike to my elementary school aged ears.

Apparently it's just me and a couple of other people on the main board.

I need the make up for the rest of the populous (and media) that should be believing it.

I'm still floored that someone suggest BRATT for Gibson the other day to ''Address our goalie woes'' and all the Ducks fans asking for actual valuables from the Leafs to send them Gibson this past offseason.
