I mean it all evens out. Those 2 that Vasi wants back he made up with 4 crazy saves. This is an ONSLAUGHT.
Yeah, he ain't been great, but Colorado has by far been the better team the entire series. I would say EVERY period. Tampa has barely been competitive the entire series.

For what it's worth, Vasilevskiy was the better goalie in game 1, but allowed one more goal because he faced 15 more shots than Kuemper did.

I would be mad too if I were about to lose finals three years in a row. :sarcasm:

I never get players who cup chase...it rarely works and if you do it you'd best do it after the team just won one because decent chance they'd get one again next year or year after but after they've already won 2 straight thats a bold move

TG with the All-Star trivia...last Tampa goalie to play in the playoffs other than Vasilevsky was....

Louie Domingue

I think that was the year they were actually pretty decent like 2014 and like final week the entire roster went down due to injury and they got destroyed by MTL

What surprises me is that Tampa just hasn't shown up for this game. It's the evident lack of desire, you'd say that if it was us in a normal game for instance. It just makes one wonder how much burning motivation they have to win at this point. Colorado wants it more tonight, wouldn't you say?

Sure Tampa can go home, get the crowd behind it, and win game 3 and then it's a new series. But at no time during this Rangers series did I feel that they just didn't have the fire in them like I feel it tonight.

Game 2 at NY was actually where Tampa turned it around, even though they lost. About half way through game 2 was when the momentum of play shifted, even though they also went down 2 zip in game 3 at Tampa.

I dunno, this feels very different.

Tampa has looked gassed at various points this post season, they’re just so good they’ve been able to overcome it each time. Guess we’ll see if they can do it again, but you’re really tempting fate trying to win going down 2-0 two series in a row.

I think three years of full playoff runs have just caught up to them. That's allot of hockey.

I'm really baffled as to why Vasilevskiy is still in there.

Does he really think they're gonna come back in this game and Elliott is gonna decide it for them?

Like when Gallant pulled Igor and the Rangers tied it (Domingue isn't in net here tonight) and Georgiev gave up a very lousy and soft game winner?

That goal looked identical to Manson's, but at least it's Makar.

Why leave Vasilevskiy in there to get crushed?

What's the point? I can't see the Bolts scoring more than one goal in this game. I would say the odds of more than 2 are astronomically lower than the chances of Kuemper getting a shutout.

Avs are just a well oiled machine. They're like the Lightning in that they just have elite talent throughout their lineup and solid depth, but they're just better this year. All they're missing is an elite goalie too but they're so good everywhere else it probably won't matter

Like I said, they'd be dumb to re-sign Kuemper, unless he wants to take a stupid low discount in both term and dollars.

It was a good move to trade for him this year and he had a very good season, but pedestrian playoffs, likely due to the injury.

And it didn't hurt them one bit.

I'd say they acquired him to win THIS YEAR and not hopefully this year but definitely in the next couple after this.

I think all the hockey TB has played for 3 years, unsurprisingly caught up with them. It was an amazing run. Actually happy for Colorado, because I thought they were turning into the new San Jose. Proved me wrong big time.
