Flyers going all out tank. No clue who is in net for them but he is trash. Like Gillies level trash.

It’s Felix Sandström. He was their 2015 3rd Rd pick. It’s his 4th NHL game.

Martin Jones played yesterday and someone has to play in goal.

They’re just terrible.

I take it back on the flyers goalie . He isn’t that bad .
He made some nice saves but the first goal against was very very soft . Wrist shot from far out that wasn’t tipped or anything . It was very stoppable . Second goal was a breakaway so can’t really fault him . Wasn’t a great move against him but looked late reacting and didn’t have his pad on the ice .
Since then he has been good . First goal though …. Yikes

The real time Bleedred stats for this guy, unless he’s allowed a fourth goal since I last saw are 8 goals stoppable and he’s only allowed 13, but his save percentage was .915% coming into this game and with it currently being a .909% for this game it doesn’t stand to go down much from that .915% unless he allows another goal in the last minute of the game here.

The first two goals (including the Toews breakaway goal) were both stoppable. The Gustafsson goal was like “Really?” He shouldn’t be screened on that.

Obviously 60% of goals stoppable is completely unsustainable, but yeah he does look Gillies bad in his last couple games. I don’t really remember his first game played, it was a bit earlier in the year. It was actually a 3-2 OT loss against the Sharks where he allowed 3 goals on 46 shots on December 30th. I don’t even remember it, but I know I watched it and reviewed the goals in it.

Martin Jones is sitting there wondering how he can have such a high save percentage while allowing over double the amount of goals stoppable as him lol.

Honestly, I think it's best for the Flyers to tank this year/finish below us and hopefully win the lottery, because they won't be able to next year with the new rules, right?

It's 2 in 5 years so they could still win again

Benning’s picks were either huge busts or almost steals. No real In-between. It was massive for them to hit Pettersson ,Demko , Hughes or they would be incredibly bad.
And they got rid of the head of scouting most responsible for Petey and Hughes because he got too much attentioon which Benning and Weisbrod couldn't handle.

I just like to point out that the Flyers traded their 2022 2nd, which is now #36, to get Arizona to take Gostisbehere so they could have room to trade for Risto.

They needed that to bribe Arizona to take a 28 year old defenseman with a 4.5m cap hit, but a 3.25m salary in each of those last 3 years, who managed to score 44 points (with 11 goals) for the Coyotes.

Good Job Flyers!

Some early playoff hockey in Dallas...Only to get decided by the gimmick.

Zoinks that’s some crazy shit

lol So he'd be on a 26 goal pace if not for overturned goals. I feel like it's pretty crazy for a team alone to have 7 overturned goals. The odds of it happening to one player has to be nearly impossible

Palmieri had two goals overturned in one game in March, the NYI ended up losing 3-2 in a SO to Chicago and Palms had zero recorded points.

Matthews has 45 Even Strength goals and 39 are 5v5.

I thought that would beat Stamkos, but in 2011-12 Stammer had 48 Even Strength goals and 41 were 5v5. What a king lol.

When Ovi scored 65 in 2007-08, he had 43 EV goals and 34 were 5v5.

When Tavares scored 47 in 2018-19, he had 37 EV and 33 were 5v5.

G/60 wise it’s 2.34 for Matthews at AS and then 2.06 for Ovi and 1.99 for Stamkos. ES that’s Matthews at 1.98, Ovi 1.7, Stamkos 1.91. 5v5 1.91 Matthews, 1.81 Stamkos, 1.54 Ovi

Stamkos was just bombing shots from range with insane efficiency. He had a 1.91 G/60 at ES on an ixG/60 of 0.91. He more than doubled his expected goals and had one more goal than expected every 60 minutes at ES. That’s silly. It’s happening this year too (to a far lesser extent of course). 0.65 ixG/60 with a G/60 of 1.18

No skilled shooter gets in there and pummels the nets with shots like Matthews 5v5. He’s a technician.

He’s a bit more spread out this season:

Last year was weirdly fascinating, he just shoved his face right in there lol:

Toronto’s 21st in PP Opportunities this season and they’re handed out at a record low rate…

While with Stamkos, his shot is just supernatural. I never looked as this before. It was silly:

The shot creation is more mortal (but you probably should have cross checked him if he got in front of your net in 2011-12).

And it was back when they gave teams a ton PP still:
