See, Pete knows he’s f***ed and will be filing for unemployment in just a week or two.

He wouldn’t go out of his way to throw a starting goalie under the bus like that publicly.

He might say “We need a save” he did that here a few times and in San Jose. He’s done that with Brossoit in Vegas, but him doing that with Lehner tells me he knows he’s done.

I don’t think he deserves to be fired, but Vegas makes knee jerk moves. I wouldn’t even be shocked if McCrimmon is out as GM after this year. I don’t think he will be, I just wouldn’t be surprised if he is though.

Whether they win this or lose, it doesn’t look like they’re getting into the playoffs.

Dallas is really trying to give them some help though.

lol I mean it's hard to even blame him for saying it last game. I mean Lehner's controller disconnected on the Boqvist goal in a way I don't think I've ever seen before

He definitely wasn’t wrong. That was a BAD goal and I even gave it softy of the night. But it just doesn’t seem like Pete to be that vocal against a starting goalie on his team. He’s frustrated and probably knows the end is near.

Vegas wins it in OT. I’m pretty sure the Dadonov goal on Samsonov is softy of the night, but one of the two goals against Mike Smith was a really bad one that he had covered and lost it and was still thinking he had it covered while it was lost and then put in. I just need to see the Chicago OT winner first before I’m caught up on all the goals tonight.

Samsonov is a REALLY terrible goalie though. How many goalies that don’t play for the Devils are definitely worse than Samsonov? What a brutal, garbage netminder he is.

Does anybody disagree or have a problem with this statement? Anybody at all?

I just see one dude with see-through hair that’s got his hand up…. He kind of looks like Mark Recchi a little bit from here. Wait a minute, it’s not Mark Recchi…. It’s Peter Laviolette!

Kraken and Hawks win. Devils still likely to get 5th or 6th lottery slot, but ain't over yet.

I was really hoping for 4 but that's dead. 5th would be nice. 21.6% shot at 5th is and 44.4% for 6th isn't great but much preferable to only a 30% shot at 6th overall with the 6th spot

Thanks again whoever is controlling the NHL app and website. They did a much better job tonight and had the goal videos up in short order, but the Chicago OT winner has yet to be posted and I know that was scored before Theodore won the game for Vegas because that game was already a final before the Vegas game ended. And that video is already up. Come on man, do I gotta go to Twitter again? That f***s with me on the mobile site for not having an account?

f***! Finally it posted. Thank god.

No stoppable goal on Vejmelka or Grubauer tonight or Merzlikins last night.

It’s gonna be down the wire for the stoppable goal Jennings. Grubauer looked like he easily had it locked up the entire season until last week when Merzlikins passed him and then Vejmelka did as well. He sits just one behind them at 51, with both of them at 52.

It looks like one of Merzlikins or Vejmelka will take it, simply based on the fact that Merzlikins plays almost every single game since Korpisalo got shut down for the year. Berube was in there the other night for Columbus though. And with how pathetic Sateri looked in the Calgary game and he got blown out against Vancouver also, it don’t look like Vejmelka’s gonna be sitting much either.

If Chicago manages to blow this game after having 3-1 lead because they gave up goals to a college kid, a 35 year old Anton Stralman and then some other spare part, I will crown them Kings of the Losers. (I’m not watching this, since I’m not a mental patient, but the scoreboard watch has been annoying.)
Hey the Hawks managed to win in OT, as did Vegas, after blowing their leads.

The 5th spot is looking pretty iffy but hope springs eternal.

I honestly have way more faith in the Kraken going on some miracle run despite a much tougher schedule.

Chicago still has Philly and San Jose coming up which helps.

Ottawa’s schedule is pretty easy and they win the tie-breaker, so they aren’t a concern coming the other way so far, so that’s a plus. (We play them though.)

Is it possible Lehner was not pulled for efficiency reasons? He’s been back and forth injured for a bit now. He even came back last week, then was back out again for a game or two and then came back again.

The goal he allowed was a bad one, but it wouldn’t shock me if they came out with Thompson to start the 2nd because he had aggravated something.

I did watch a decent amount of that game. Even if he was on the bench it doesn’t rule out that he tweaked something.

That MartInez goal on Samsonov also looked like a bad one and the Vegas crew seemed to think it was too, but I’m pretty sure the deflected off his teammate in front.

Dallas losing and Vegas winning is fun because they play on Tuesday.

There are a couple of games before that that could make point race less close (Dallas has the lead, 91 vs 89, plus a game in hand).

Dallas plays in Calgary tomorrow, then the Kraken at home on Sat, while Vegas has the Sharks at home on Sunday.

Still we don’t often get a game right at the end potentially this significant between two teams in a playoff race. And both teams keep choking harder than your grandmother eating a bag of dried chicken bones so it’s hard to pick which one will f*** this up on Tuesday.

A Vegas fan succinctly explains that team:

I got separate ones, just like the Jennings and Vezina.

We the stoppable goal Jennings (dead heat the moment between Merzlikins and Vejmelka, with Grubauer trailing by just one behind) and the stoppable goal Vezina.

I'd really have to go through and calculate who has the highest percentage, among guys that have played an adequate number of games. Gillies wouldn't qualify due to lack of games.

I think it's gonna be either Koskinen or Grubauer there.

Anton Forsberg also has a considerably high percentage of goals stoppable as well. Be on the lookout for him to go back to being mediocre at best next year, just like he's been just about every year until this year.

Nice 3 year contract Sens. And they still got Murray another 2 years (maybe LTIR or buyout after this year) as of right now.

Ovechkin basically waiving off a penalty that would have given his team a powerplay because he just wiped out on his own is so great. I don't know how it's possible not to like that guy.

Philly winning tonight. 2 points behind us. With our goaltending and Seattle on a roll, it’s far from impossible we finish third worst in the league. Gimme Jiricek/Nemec.

I'd say it's pretty much impossible. I think there's an outside chance Seattle passes us. Philly's I see no chance. Sure they're winning tonight but it's one of the few teams they can actually compete with in the Habs. They'll be 2 back but we'll have 1 in hand. I'd hoping for a 5th worst finish and no one jumps us with Philly moving into the top 2. I could see it going Wright/Cooley to Arizona/Philly. Slaf to Montreal. Nemec/Jiricek to Seattle. I also get the feeling Seattle would lean more to Nemec for some reason. That leaves Jiricek to us.
