I think they get Stone back soon, so maybe they can still get in? LA had a lengthy losing streak before tonight winning tonight against a Blackhawks team that was expected to make the playoffs. says no one but their has-been and now fired and disgraced general manager and some of his cronies.

This win could have meant something for Vancouver if they hadn’t run out of gas a couple weeks back. Before the big winning streak Vegas put together.

I think Dallas gets in now, but Vegas can certainly catch LA, which I kind of hope they do. It doesn’t feel right that Loser Todd McLellan can get in the playoffs with a team that was not expected to go anywhere.

Apparently Stone was in tonight. Okay, Vegas is still alive, but I think they’re dependent on catching LA right now.

The Blackhawks are dropping like a stone, it’s tough to lose to them.

The Kings can’t score all and hopefully won’t stumble into the playoffs, but they still might because they have a very easy remaining schedule. Dallas kind of blows too, but not nearly as much. Vegas has a game left in Dallas.

It’s still a playoff race but only getting one point tonight was not great for Vegas.

Flyers dominating the first 10 minutes but can't get anything to go.

Edit: Now Kakko scores just 20 seconds after the 10 minute mark...

I’ve given up watching the tank standings. Last time we finished the season strong in a crappy year, the lottery gods rewarded us.

I don't even really want to win the lottery all that much. I just want to finish lower so the odds of Jiricek are higher. I get especially worried if a team like Philly finishes below us because that's a guy they'd slob all over.

Philly falls 9-2…. If Blackwood returns anywhere close to what he once was we’re finishing above them. Could pass them tonight with Arizona up
What sucks is for the draft , I prefer Jiricek over Nemec , but Jiricek is exactly the type of player the Flyers like and will probably pick if he’s there . We have to pick before Philly if we want to take him

The hope is they pick a forward. Assuming no lottery changes I’m hoping the top 4 goes Wright, Cooley/Slaf, Nemec, Slaf/Cooley

Am I the only the one that knows Samsonov sucks? I thought Lavi and the Caps knew this, but the Vanecek punishment is really going on a while.

Tarasenko with his second goal , fourth point vs. Sabres right now. Goal #30 .
I really really wish we knew what , if any , talks we had with the Blues on trading for him this past off-season. We were rumoured to be in on him but who knows. Hard to bitch at Fitz about not gettig him without knowing what the askig price was. Too bad it didn’t work out for us.

2 breakaways for Connor Brown in the 3rd and stoned on both of them. Could've made it a 4-2 game for Ottawa over Boston.

Well it was an eventful night for the Western playoff race & the Tankathon.

Huge regulation win for Vegas over Calgary while Dallas only gets one point vs Minny.

Lady Luck smiled upon us in Loserville as somehow Detroit beat the Canes and Ottawa beat the Bruins in regulation, and if that wasn’t enough, Chicago pulled out a win against San Jose in the SO. Only the Sabres lost.

3 pt cushion on Chicago and 4 on Sens now. Could easily revert back to 1 and 2 on Saturday since we have Seattle up and they have the Preds and Leafs. Hopefully Leafs Leaf it up against the Sens. Philly’s got 1 on us with back to back Buffalo games coming up. They’re so bad that I’m practically expecting them to lose out at this point

I am just hopping for the best possible odds we can get to be able to get (in order if preference ) Slafkovsky ( very doubtful unless we win the lotto) Jiricek then Nemec .
Would be massive for us moving forward . We’d check a lot of the boxes on that checklist for what cup contenders need for a roster .

I'm all in on Jiricek but would be cool with Nemec. As it stands there's a decent chance none of those 3 happen. 44.4% of 6th which is iffy and 16.8% of 7th which is really rough. I think we really need to flip with Philly and get at least 4th worst odds. Flipping with both them and Seattle would just about guarantee it

Ya picking 6th would suck as I cannot see us getign one of those 3 for sure then.

Philly is so bad at this point I just don't really see us flipping with them. I would not be surprised to see them lose out. Good thing at least is they have a soft schedule with back to back Buffalo games coming up, then also Montreal, Chicago and Ottawa. Getting 3 pts out of the 2 Buffalo's and Montreal and then pushing at least one of the Chicago/Ottawa games would be nice.

I don't see Seattle passing us but a loss tomorrow against Seattle could help a lot. They'd then be 4 back with a game in hand. Their schedule is somewhat difficult though

We have the 26th easiest strength of schedule. Chicago, Ottawa, and Philly though are 28-30

If NJ gets goaltending they will win a decent number of this last stretch of games. They are not as bad a team as the record indicates.

I’m watching start of Jets / Blots in Tampa. Guy singing Oh Canada…. more or less just made up his own version of the anthem off the start lol.

Vegas’ loss today to Edmonton leaves the door open to Dallas to take a 2 game lead (with only 6 games left for Vegas to play) if Dallas can win tonight. Big games for those clubs.

LoL, Rangers fans were dumping on Lafreniere on their board before he does that highlight reel goal later in the game. The weight and expectations of being a number one over all draft choice follow everyone who achieves that status in the same manner. Like with Jack and Nico. If you are not absolutely lighting it up by season 2, you are hearing it.

I mean it’s not like Laf’s visually looked good. He looks mediocre on the ice most of the time, the macrostats aren’t good, the microstats aren’t good, the production isn’t good. He could still turn out good but there’s real reason for criticism. Nico was good from the start. Jack had a rough rookie year but you could see it and the microstats were there. His sophomore year the production wasn’t there but legitimately everything else was. Even another Ranger in Kakko was the worst player of the analytics era in his rookie year then took a massive lead his sophomore year to be a high end two way play driver even if the production wasn’t there.

can’t say I’ve watched him all that much when we haven’t been playing them but he has shown flashes. On the power play he’s looked dangerous. He skates very well and fluidly, is strong on his skates with a wide and low center of gravity and seems to see the ice very well. Has a dangerous shot. Those have been my impressions. It’s early I think most would agree. And with the Rangers having a very successful season at the moment, it’s strange to see the bellyaching there, not just as to him but as to Panarin, Fox, really there’s a lot of moaning on the Rags board.
