I follow the Reign and have the AHL Package me being a complete geek- but would love to wonder why the need to trade Allard. He was a legit AHL defensemen and was giving some solid play for the Reign.
My only thought is to perhaps give him an opportunity to make an NHL roster? He wasn’t going to get that opportunity here, and just played for his hometown Habs.

That may be but couldnt that have been an offseason move and not one before the push for playoffs? Maybe we chalk this one up to Bergevin.

Sturm said Cal was their best player on the night which kinda says it was a bit of a sh!t show.
Their current roster does not have good offensive players who are capable to create for themselves.
Players who are good, but need creators help are Chromiak and Fagemo.
Helenius is really good defensively and physical.
Also, they do not have smart/good coach.
Why are we surprised that the team cannot score?
P.S. Turcotte return can help a lot.

Cal is getting a lot of work in. With that defense they should be giving up 7 a night, Bjornfot is really the only legit NHL-level defense right now.

When the hell is Sturms contract up?
Cal regressing again, from trusted source and I see it too.
Spence departure left a big hole.

1-7-2 in their last 10

Not watching the games, but something isn't right in Ontario.

How has Grans looked? 7 points in 49 games after 24 points last season concerns me.

Grans is a complimentary player, not a driver. I’m not sure he has it in him to elevate his game when other D get moved up to the NHL and he has to play an expanded role. Some are really high on him but I dont see it. He does have nice size and decent tools, but I dont see him on the big club in the future.

Was always a boom or bust prospect. Intriguing size and abilities but always left scouts wanting more pre draft. Still young. See what happens. I am not high on him but others are. I think a lot of that may be based on size however.

Agree. Wasn't a huge fan in my limited viewings but obviously needed time and opportunity to grow his game.

Sturm needs to to be let go.
He is radioactive and poisoning our prospects.
Too important to have a conducive , fun learning environment with Brandt coming to town for all or a good part of next season.

10 stinken losses in a row. 1 win in their last 12. Keep Sturm away from the young kids. Ouch.
Haven't watched many games this season but something definitely stinks down there. Even with the call ups to LA they still have a pretty good roster especially with Tynan and Andersson.

Bad coach, poor roster. Think of the guys pulled up this year, there is barely anything left.

Big time goal scorer Bjornfot with the only goal.

Got to wonder what's changed. Can't just be Spence.
I wonder if frustration is setting in. Guys like Fagemo, Madden and Andersson have to be thinking theres nothing they can do to make the Kings. A hat trick wont even buy them a chance.
Dmen like Grans and Bjornfot may see the writing on the wall also.

Interesting theory. I would hope these are professional athletes and that is not the case but at the same time most players I know are A type personalities and might have said F this. We see this where I work. We have a majority of A type guys who try out for special teams, get reject time and time again when other on the teams even wonder why the brass is rejecting them and a lot of those guys end up with the “F - this” attitude when it comes to work in general.

Never really thought about that aspect until you brought it up.

Blake needs to thin the herd so to speak.

To many same talent, same age group, same position on both teams. Time to trade away
the vets that can be replaced by cheaper younger guys, or some of the younger guys that can’t seem to displace the older guys.

Get some picks and futures back to ensure we keep replenishing the system and keep everyone hungry and hopeful.

Yea i dont know for sure but for these guys to get this far they have to be competitive by nature. So they arent saying f this necessarily.
But there may be a small sense of gloom about their future. And they are playing against teams that are hungrier to make impressions on the big club.

From my experience managing high performers (in business not sport although there are lots of parallels) they need to see that the next step in front of them is attainable. Not immediately but in a sensible time frame. Career focused people are driven but have to be in the right situation or want to go.

I can absolutely see that the guys who think they are nhl players but won’t realise that in LA will start being affected. It’s human nature.

They may still be skating hard but mentally will be more mindful of personal goals and not team ones. Obviously it won‘t be the majority but in a team sport you only need a handful of guys with that mindset to be stuffed.

Without having watched many games this season and only basing it on the previous years I watched, I don't really think any of them deserve to be with LA save for Fagemo and Bjornfot at the moment. But then again, with LA playing so well, there's no room for them either. Even Kaliyev, JAD and Spence are having a hard time getting into games consistently.

That assumes that every other AHL team is chockablock with prospects that are all clearly going to feature heavily in the future of their NHL teams which is simply NOT the case.

The rhetoric on this board about the depression and frustration of LA Kings prospects is wildly overblown.
