It was an idea. I didn't say it was a good idea.
Well he's not wrong.Trust me, you do NOT want to play the "but what about the stats" game with AA...bold strategy, Cotton.

Contextually, the Kings have a record of 9-2-4 for 22 points in 15 games with AA in the line up, so I'm fine with the sky being green.Statistically? No. Contextually? Might as well have said the sky is green.
I'm blown away how well some of our prospects have done this year in Ontario. Our defense has been especially strong with Durzi, Spence and Grans having amazing years. I have always been a big fan of Fagemo. I think he's a very smart player and has the skill to be in the NHL. He also currently leads the team with a +15 and I has a goal scoring knack if put with the right players.
Vilardi looks to have righted the ship and Turcotte will have his place with the big team.
All this being said - who are you guys okay with trading to get another star player on the Kings? The only guys (right now) that I would say are untouchable for me are Byfield, Clarke and Spence. Everyone else is fair game if the right offer is on the table. Thoughts?

Doesn't mean that he is a good fit for Byfield, that he himself is playing well or deserves a contract extension to limit an opportunity for a kid in the future.Contextually, the Kings have a record of 9-2-4 for 22 points in 15 games with AA in the line up, so I'm fine with the sky being green.

Maybe you should complain to the league for "cherry picking" the way games are decided: like using goals for instance.Imagine cherry picking this hard to stick up for AA as a difference making player.
I'm not even going to argue with your guys, here's your shovel. Dig your own hole.
The argument isn’t being made about production, it’s being made about development & benefit of players who actually are in the long term plans for this franchise, versus one trick ponies who will never hold a place on a championship caliber roster.Maybe you should complain to the league for "cherry picking" the way games are decided: like using goals for instance.

Now you're just making shit up. He isn't dead last in CF% and his GA/60 is ahead of Kempe and Kopitar. The guy who is dead last is you're boy Byfield. Maybe he's the one dragging numbers down.Yeah! Goals are important! Would you agree keeping them out is important?
Over his time here, AA is dead last in CF%, SF%, HDCF%, and damn near dead last in GF%, xGF%, and GA/60.
So he's scoring? That's cool. He's getting scored ON at rates that completely invalidate his contributions enough that he's literally the worst forward on the team by nearly every metric. That's actually pretty f***ing impressive, guys usually are at least good at something.
I tried to save you from yourself. Sorry. He IS that bad. even if he's a guy I'm rooting for.

I'm sorry, but if you are seriously sticking up for AA at this point you are either trolling or have your head up your ass. The numbers have been put out time and time again and it matches the eye test, so there really isn't anything worth discussing, he sucks
"Byfield smashes it"... you mean his one goal and two whole points in 13Re-read. "over his time here," which covers several groups of linemates and seasons, not just those he was fortunate to have people cover up his issues in small sample sizes.
And no, we already did that homework. Byfield smashes it with everyone but AA. So congrats on doubling down on being wrong. Keep going if you like.
(and all of this is JUST the stats...not the eye test. even I didn't expect them to be as damning as they were but they sure confirm who he is, chaos incarnate with immense skill who can score against the flow of play at times. There are some guys behind him in one stat or two but they play FAR harder matchups...imagine getting softies on a tee and still sucking as hard as AA. you must be his agent to want to fight that hard for a guy getting preferential deployment and still getting rocked consistently over 7 years in the NHL).

So he's scoring? That's cool. He's getting scored ON and completely destroyed in possession at rates that completely invalidate his contributions enough that he's literally the worst forward on the team by nearly every metric. That's actually pretty f***ing impressive, guys usually are at least good at something.

Those numbers are stats going back through last season (his entire time as a King). This is not cherry picking, AA is badHe's only played 15 of 47 games - less than a third - so I wouldn't go too far drawing big conclusions from his stats vs the rest of the team.
The irony here is too much for meI must admit I have a certain admiration for people that truly believe their own bullshit.
