Stockton is such a sh*tty town. Imagine going to the Minors and finding out it's f**ken Stockton. Great win against the division leaders. Turcotte, Grans, Madden was fantastic. The vets are always good. Hoping they show up tomorrow unlike the second Grand Rapid game last week.

What a F**ken monster shift by Turcotte!!! He's been fantastic this game. All hustle takes the puck feeds Strand 3-1 Reign.

Doesn't look like he was credited but he should've picked up an assist on the Grans goal. He made the outlet pass to Madden to start the whole thing off.

I swear, people who criticize Turcotte don't know what winning hockey looks like. Even in his short stint in LA he was carrying Kupari and Brown. Turcotte needs to be on Byfield's wing next season along with Vilardi. That would be a weaponized 3rd line.

The only knock on his game that I saw was that he lacks man strength. That’s it. He was on his ass a lot. Love his game, pray we don’t trade him, can’t wait to see him with the Kings — and hopefully with better linemates!

I just wonder where he fits in. They refuse to turn the page from the old guard. Talk of Brown being back. Probably means Kopitar finishes his contract and gets another.
Turcotte is a center and theres no room. Maybe theres a 3rd line left wing spot open for him next season but thats a waste of his talent. I dont even know if that spot will be open because if they upgrade the top six Iafallo or Moore probably slide into that spot.
The Kings have too many pieces and not enough spots and they are going to neglect some of these draftees and watch them succeed somewhere else cause they want to milk the old core bit longer.

Kaliyev is a fourth line right wing this season. We all know it’s a bit of a waste but here we are. I hope a handful of guys get shots next season but who realistically leaves? I think about this a lot (I may need a new hobby…).

We technically have four UFAs: Brown, Athanasiou, Edler, and Maatta. Our only RFA of note cap-wise is Kempe, who will likely get a sizable raise.

If we assume none of the UFAs will be back (who knows at this point), we could see an opening night roster of:

Kempe - Kopitar - Kaliyev
Moore - Danault - Arvidsson
Iafallo - Byfield - Vilardi
Turcotte - Lizotte - Lemieux

I’m guessing one of our prospects gets the fourth line treatment next year and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Turcotte. I think Vilardi has gone down and done every single thing asked of him and hope to see him in our top nine next year. McLellan mentioned that Kaliyev needs to be in the top six next year. It’s hard to move a guy like Moore off the second line right now, but he very well could just be on a heck of a hot streak and start to cool. Worst case scenario I see him as a solid fourth-line guy. Moore, Lizotte, and Lemieux might be the best fourth line in the league. I dunno. Where do guys like Madden, Kupari, and Fagemo end up? So many pieces.

Defense gets even harder. Doughty isn’t going anywhere, Durzi is the best puckmover since pre-cup Drew, and guys like Spence, Clarke, and perhaps even Faber are going to make things reeeeally interesting for our coaching staff sooner than later. Faber is a standout every year at the biggest levels. Can’t wait for him to suit up for us. Can any of them play on the left side?

Faber - Doughty
Anderson - Clarke
Spence - Durzi

Yea it will be interesting to see it unfold. The defense is tough to figure out also.

No they changed it. He got credited. Great game by Turcs today.

Unless I'm looking at something wrong it wasn't. He should be credited with 2 assists for the game. Not that it matters, but for the people eye-ballin points :D.

He got the Strand assist, but on the Grans goal he retrieved the puck from behind the next and chipped it out to Madden who passed it to Grans for that bank shot goal.

Don't sleep on Madden. Last year in the pre-season he was killing it. He started off slow in the point producing department like the entire Reign did, but he was getting opportunities and was snakebit with a 4% shooting percentage. Then got injured and his season was essentially over. This is his first real season as a pro and he's shooting 17% now. He's a goal scorer and can be crafty with the puck. Madden is small like his dad when he first started, but once Tyler puts on more weight, he could be a goal scoring middle sixer.

Edit: Remember, he was the key piece to the Toffoli trade. Interestingly enough, the other component was a 2nd round pick that the Kings ended up packaging with a 4th to move up to grab Faber.

Last year in preseason he had Zegras-level swagger and electricity.

Let's not get carried away, Turc wasn't carrying anybody...his first stint nothing to write home about. If it was, he'd still be there.

With that said, that's OK...he's young. Maybe that's what he needed, gets sent down and that lights a fire..when he gets his next opportunity, hopefully he sticks and makes his mark.

Yes yes you're correct I thought you were only talking about the Strand goal. But definitely should have gotten two assist. Not sure how they missed that.

Heat spent that entire shift TRYING To take a penalty before they finally call something sorta ticky tack lol

One of the big dmen took like 4 runs at Moverare and neither he nor the puck moved

Spence spins Pospisil, heat didn't like him dangling I guess, two guys go after him and Pospisil hugs him down, Spence stands up for himself with a crosscheck and you love to see it.

Was about to say the Reign playing with no energy or emotion, Stockton taking it to them...then all of a sudden JAD killed a guy with a clean check and subsequently ate several crosschecks. Reign to the PP to try to close the gap.
