Accoreding to Lisa Dillman Vilardi will most likely not be part of the organization next year. Probably formed that opinion from talking with people within, but who knows.

Also, I hope shes wrong, I mean just look at my name. Would be pretty upset if we gave up on the kid that soon. He does have some hurdles to get over though, especially mentally it seems.

Dillman has a strange hate-on for Vilardi (and Grundstrom). I hope she's wrong, and if she's not, I hope we get something worthwhile coming back our way. It's going to be a real bummer if we lose him for nothing and he goes on to reach his potential elsewhere.

I've noticed that too. Very strange how low her thoughts are on Tonka.

I could see them being low on Vilardi if he's being a pouty little bitch about being a winger, not that I blame him being mad for being Brian Boyled all over creation. But you saw the egos with Clague, they're coming around on Gabe too. Can't wait till he's putting up 60 points for a team that will put him with a speedy possession center and PP time.

I'm a Vilardi fan but in my mind it should be clear as day he isn't cutting it at the NHL level at this moment. No intensity, no urgency, no confidence. He should be slaving away in Ontario until he figures it out. If he's pouting about being there or having to play wing, boo hoo. Show him some game tape of him getting his rear end pushed in shift after shift and tell him to take some ownership of his own destiny.

Unlike other prospects, Vilardi got handed the 2nd line center role on a platter last season and failed. He got handed the 3rd line center position this season and failed. At least he got an opportunity, unlike some others.

Where's this idea that he's pouting about shifting to winger though? He had one interview where he said he prefers playing center, and now we're acting like he's a problem in the locker room. Brown complained in the past that he prefers right wing to left wing — is he also a locker room problem?

Lisa Dillman proved a lot of times her lack of insider’s knowledge regarding Kings.
If this info would be coming from Mayor I would be worried about it...

I would agree with your opinion 100% on day before yesterday, but his game yesterday showed to me what he can be.
I hope it is not only one game…

Almost anyone can have one good game. Not trying to knock the guy but I'd favor letting him string together 10-15 good games to start, then figure out if he belongs at the next level.

I understand it, but when I was watching this game yesterday I observed something I have never watched from him before.
His skating was so much better and he was so much more decisive on the ice...

I mean I'm not saying you're necessarily wrong but six of the seven games he played were during that first seven-game losing streak where the entire team looked like absolute garbage. We should have sent down the entire team.

I cannot believe there are people that are still holding the first ten games against Vilardi/Andersson/Tkachev.

Before they give up on any of these players they should reunite that line and give em a another chance. They had something special brewing and its worth a shot. Tkachev could be substituted with a someone like Turcotte or Kupari if they insist on putting Vilardi on the wing.

They have a combined 22 games this year. 11 from Andersson, 7 from Vilardi, 4 from Tkachev.

Surely if we'd just sent them down sooner we'd be in a playoff spot.

Fair point, but we did have last season watch him play and he didn't exactly have the greatest showing then either.

I'd be more interested in giving Tkachev another shot since we haven't really seen what he can do yet and he has strengths that are sorely lacking at the big club.

Zero points and a -1. I see Byfield continues to "dominate".
Not entirely surprising given he had a very brief conditioning assignment coming off a broken leg/ankle before another break due to Covid. How did he actually play though? Did he end up alongside Vilardi?

You think he actually watched the game?

They shuffled lines quite a lot. I'm not sure, but I think #38 Siebenaler started as a forward, but he also played as a dman. It was something strange 7 (or 6) dman - 11 (or 12) forward -system. I think Vilardi was doubleshifted at times. Ontario's passing game was out of sync and they missed shots a lot (especially Spence, who was offensively active and had good scoring chances, but just couldn't utilize his chances).

Byfield started with Tkachev and Fagemo, but ended with Vilardi and Fagemo. (In the beginning Frk-Tynan-Vilardi and Tkachev-Byfield-Fagemo, at last "veterans" Tkachev-Tynan-Frk together and "youngsters" Vilardi - Byfield - Fagemo together).

Byfield didn't play well at all. In my mind it was mistake to let him play - obviously he is not fully healthy yet, not even close. Vilardi had another good (or at least ok) game. Not as good as against Bakersfield, but he was Reign's best forward anyway.

Biggest difference was between pipes. Sparks let softies, Patera didn't.

PP1 : Spence - Tynan - Vilardi - Frk - JAD

PP2 : Grans - Tkachev - Byfield - Johnson- Fagemo

Gave my tickets last night to a friend so he could take his kids and he told me I couldn't have picked a worse game and now his kids are HSK fans

One look at that lineup should have been a clue it would be a shit show but didn't think it would be THAT bad

I know, I know.

I only get to make fun of hyperbolic myopia if I actually watch the game. Bottom-line thinking never allowed.

btw, I dominated New Year's. Ate some Christmas candy and went to bed at 11 PM. Totally crushed it.
