I don't know if I ever something like that. A game 7 situation, a goaltending duo series, the Reign have the momentum.... And they go from 1st string goalie to the 3rd string goalie in the matter of a a few hours!! Brutal.


Gotta feel a bit for Flinn. His job was to hold down the fort for 10 minutes while Campbell stretched and got ready, and he lets up 3 goals in that time, and the team loses the game by 3 goals.... That's rough.

Yep, brutal. What a letdown. Flinn is a nice kid but he is an ECHL goalie at best and that might be a stretch. Campbell was so upset he wouldn't even talk to the media last night. He was hurt in the 1st period of game 4 and gutted it out. No way Stothers could go with a goalie with limited mobility in a game 7 situation. Then Zatkoff strikes again with his groin again. The whole season has been one groin disaster after another for the Kings organization. Not sure the Gulls have the offensive firepower to beat SJ. Should be a good tight defensive series. Gulls have a much better home crowd though.

What an unfortunate and anticlimactic ending. Poor goalies, all of em.

**** Zatkoff though, that guy has brought this organization nothing but grief this year. I know, it's injuries, but man.

So does Zatkoff win the title of DL's worst free agent signing? Cost the Kings games at the NHL level and then blows up Game 5 for Ontario.

At least the early signings of Cloutier, Nagy etc...helped them lose and get high draft picks.

I'm not right all the time or even half the time possibly, but I told my friend that Quick would have to play every game of the season after watching Zatkoff suck at the last Frozen Fury. I guess I was wrong because of Budaj's performance but, man, I was spot on about Zatkoff being horrible from the start.

Not sure the Gulls have the offensive firepower to beat SJ. Should be a good tight defensive series. Gulls have a much better home crowd though.

The home team won every one of the ten regular-season games between the Gulls and Barracuda, interestingly enough. I believe the 'Cuda took the overall series on the strength of more of their losses being OT/SOL.

FYI, Stothers was also another former Flyers player and assistant coach, much like John Stevens.

Stevens, Stothers and another fresh, new creative mind behind the bench would be a welcome coaching staff change that could work to the benefit of both the veterans and the young players who are trying to establish themselves.

Stothers' personality is just so perfect for coaching. NEver at a loss for words, can be intense, can bring levity. I think hes' gonna have a long successful career. And if he gets the asst. job, his personality will be a HUGE asset imo.

Stevens has survived two head coach firings, so I doubt all the blame would go to Stothers.

I would love Stothers to stay down with the Reign too, but I have significant doubt that will occur. I feel confident that he will be one of the new Kings assistant coaches.

Oh, I'm under no delusion that those signings worked out. Just saying that at least they could be put away quietly and worked out well in the AHL...but Zatkoff, on the other hand, found a way to screw the org at multiple levels. It's pretty impressive really!
