Yeah I'm kind of in 2 minds about it. I was in favor of JAD being called in early because he just had that mentality that really fits in the NHL kind of like Turcotte, but the difference is that Turcotte has much higher potential than JAD so I'm kind of in between where I want to see him against NHL players and really integrate himself, but also kind of wanting to see him really take over the Reign as the leader and set himself apart.

Its easier for me to see Byfield and Kaliyev on the roster next year because they're just too good to keep off, but with Turcotte I'm okay with being a little more patient.

It's going to be interesting to see what the Kings do with all these young natural centers. Kopitar is still under contract for 3 years and figures to be a lock for 1C or 2C for all three years. Byfield looks to be locked in at 2C (maybe he's 1C by end of year 3) for the same time-frame. JAD did kind of hit a bit of a wall towards the end of the season, but he is everything you want in a 3C.

The path to an NHL roster spot for guys like Kupari, Turcotte, Thomas and Madden could be how well they can play the wing at the next level, could even include Valardi in this group. The Kings situation on the wing is basically Alex Iafallo wearing the Riddler's suit. Lots of opportunity, even if they do bring in a FA top-6.

I don't know if that's true.

I think it's pretty clear that he needs to have his ice-time reduced. He's really starting to lag here late in the season.

He could be our 2C by the end of next season, and find himself being the 3C the season after if he declines and 2 of our other young centers ascend.

Watching Kale Clague's body language is getting tiring when goal after goal goes in while he blows his coverage. The hand gestures and looking up into the air after 3 pro seasons has grown stale. While some may like his NHL game better due to NHL structure, the fact that he has the 2nd worst GA per 60 of all Kings D men (only MacDermid is worse) tells a different story. And the reality is the Kings sent him down yet again. He has has some offensive skill and vision, no doubt, I'm just tired of the same ole story at this point. Convince me I'm wrong. If Seattle wants him, I won't lose any sleep.
On a positive note, Turcotte continues to be more of a force each game, his game is rounding out nicely I look for him to challenge the roster as a 20 year old in a few short months. The skills are there. He gets knocked down a lot, but has the skill set and hockey IQ that Lizotte (similar style) lacks. Turcotte has 4 goals and 4 assists in his last 7 games.

Turcotte is going to be a tough decision next year.

Really SHOULD stay down and get stronger, offensively dominate.

But his brain and tools are NHL caliber right now and our roster sucks, he's likely to force his way onto the NHL roster.

Same goes for Arty Party. Leads the team with 28 points. Leader in goals and tied for 1st in assists.

And he looks good in the purple & gold going through the line after a goal. Immirite?

Beginning of season I was back and forth who to protect for the expansion draft... him or Andersson. I think that's clear to everyone now.

I believe Kaliyev needs another year in the Minors, the Kings need him to be a top 6 forward not a bottom 6 or worse ex player

see how he does in camp, if he is showing well give him a few games and base it from there. Dude has showed tremendous growth so far. Either way next year the growth hopefully continues. From all accounts he is doing everything they are asking of him. Hope he gets a little quicker.

For me it's all about patience. Next year I want a Madden Turcotte Kaliyev line to smoke the AHL. Madden needs a full year in the Pros, Turcotte needs to open up offensively and Arty needs to find another gear. At the TDL roster spots will open up for some of them.

Byfield and Kupari need NHL time. Blake needs to make room for them this summer.
Fagemo and Thomas , they will get some games next year. Also Frk will get some calls ups, but most probably traded at some point.

Could be but his injury ruined everything for him.

He did well last season.

He was on pace for mid-30's point wise.

I think he's a good solution for the Vilardi/LA pair as he's had great chemistry with Vilardi. Defense might be a concern with that line, but Frk isn't terrible in his own end.

Frk paired with those 2 might be the slowest line in the league. They will need an AI/Moore/Turcotte on the line to drive play, create space, cause turnovers.
