Most improved from beginning of the year- Reign whipping boys Durzi and Vallhalta. Both looking solid. Sadly the biggest regression has to go to Clague. He looks like a hot mess with a bad turnover and some jr level defending leading to 2 goals.
No question Durzi was bad for a good portion of the season, but I wasn't picking on him. I remember how long it took Scuderi to "get it" - and then he turned really amazing. If the kid has the skill, give him time and opportunity to work it out.

Clague looks miles better in the NHL than in the AHL. Definitely one of those guys whose game suits the NHL better than the minors.

This is pretty much exactly what we want to see- all of top caliber prospects at the top of the list. Maybe would hope for Turcotte be higher but all things considered.....Moverare has been pretty good. Nice ppg for a dman.

Turcotte didn't register a point in his first 6 games. I don't think we ever got information on whether the injury that took him out of the lineup in February was a new one or the same that kept him out of preseason that he just came back too early from but I don't have an issue writing off those first 6. All 18 of his points come in the 24 games since, which puts him at 0.75 PPG over that stretch.

To be fair to some of the other guys I could also take out slow starts to give the following:

Kaliyev 27 points in last 33 games (0.82)
Thomas 21 points in last 27 games (0.78)

I know its selective stat picking, but it highlights how good these guys have been over the majority of the AHL season and that abysmal start to the year really was just that, a bunch of rookies trying to figure out the league.

There's going to be a lot of exciting competition in training camp next year.

Feel good about the Byfeild pick, he will help the Reign here for the mini playoffs. I already said weeks ago that Arty was the one prospect that really surprised me. He's took a huge step forward in his development. But for me it's the 2019 draft that needs to pan out. More specifically Turcotte and Bjornfot in the first round.

Other prospects from that draft year are producing very well in the AHL. Tomasino was drafted 24th overall in 2019 by Nashville. He proceeded to torch the OHL the following season with 40-60-100 in 62 games played, then scored 4-2-6 in 7 games played in the WJC, largely on the fourth line. He now has 12-14-26pts in 24 games played for the AHL Chicago Wolves. He is still only 19 years old. Caufield, Krebs, NewHook, Cozens, Zegras are now playing in the NHL... Lots of talented forwards in that 1st round.

I believe Turcotte is 6 months behind in development due to injuries. Give him another half year to get stronger and more confident and we may see a totally different player.

we have a lot to look forward too with our massive pool of prospects

Turcotte is now tied with Kaliyev and Kupari in assist with less games played. Well one less then Kupari but still not bad after a slow start. Really hope he starts to shoot more and see if he can get some more goals.

It's hard to compare how other teams prospects are doing in relation to the Kings. The Reign are loaded with rookies playing major roles. It's why the Kings hired Wrob to coach them. I would bet that most other AHL teams are a little more stable in terms of pro experience distribution etc. The Reign are starting to play much better after that train wreck start. To me, what's more important is do the kids who we want to be good look the part? Most of the time, they do from what I've seen in the many games I've watched on AHL TV. Yes, finishing for the most part can be better, but they're creating high danger chances and are generally in position for good shots. I imagine next season the Reign are going to be much better because our prospects are going to perform much better. I expect Wrob will earn his paycheck.

Dayum who the hell is this Cameraman pan out a little my goodness. Getty dizzy watching this Sh*t!!!
