How has Turcotte been this year overall? Haven't been able to catch many games.
He is much better than he gets credit for, esp with the Reign. He does a lot of things that do not show in stats--he is high energy, drives play, takes hits, dogs the puck defensively and on forecheck. He was compared to Jonathan Toews at draft time and that is why, plus his leadership ability. He will be even better in the NHL with more skilled players.so-so. nothing spectacular and has been banged up a bit. Some folks on the board wish he would have stayed another year in college, but this was NOT a normal "year", both college or AHL, so it's hard to say. I think he is going to be a solid top-6 player, maybe not the game changer folks are hoping for. We'll see, he is very young still.
The next two off-seasons will be huge if young Turcotte! He could a second centre or a terrific 3rd line Centre who plays the 200 foot game with Speed, defensive awareness and creativity! Haven't had one of those around ever I believeTurcotte is a glue guy that LA needs. Doubt he puts up a ton of points and he’ll drop in draft redos but I think he will factor in wins in ways that the stat sheet won’t pick up.

Just needs to bulk up, get stronger and avoid the injury bug.
You mention he "takes hits". Does he also "give hits"?
He does not. Hes actually not very physical in that sense. His physicality is more grinding in the corners or going to the hard areas
Can someone remind me the rules around Kaliyev next year. I believe he is old enough to play AHL?
There is no need for him to see the OHL again.
Is this the same for Chromiak or will his age make him go back to Jrs for another year?
thanks
Correct no more OHL for Kaliyev - AHL or NHL
Chromiak is either OHL or NHL (so he’ll be back in juniors next year assuredly).
Speaking of Chromiak, did he clear quarantine? Is he practicing with the Reign yet?
