Doubt they use one of their remaining callups this year for Moverare, unless there's an injury. Guessing they use the callups on other young forwards (Arty, Turc, Kupari or Thomas). But I guess wrong all the time. I sure would like to see what he can do at the NHL level.
I believe in the case of injury they can use an emergency call up but with 8 defence-men on the NHL roster it’s fairly unlikely.

Does Fagemo get a shot? Like what I see in him. Almost a more talented Iafallo. Does a bit of everything well. Won’t be a star but effective.

Turcotte's having trouble handling the puck tonight. Villalta's actually been playing decent recently. Zero-zero after 1.

Kaliyev knew his shot went in. It looked like it went off the center support. It was so fast, no review. He even started coasting as if it went in. He knows when his shots go in. Colorado had the "Save Cam" view which would have shown the conclusively, but there are no AHL Goal reviews due to COVID this year... WTF. On the AHL Feed it was at 1:52:01

I went back and looked and could not tell, although it was pretty clear that Kaliyev and Gaunce knew it went in. Did they ever show another view? I didn't see the game tonight.

No they never did. Announcers were discussing, but poo-pooed Kaliyev's reaction. The did show the overhead save view for a lot of their saves though.

When the Reign get good goaltending, they are a competitive team at this point in the season. Check out the one touch pass by Kupari at 1:28 in the highlights. Not in the highlights, but it appears Kaliyev should have had two goals tonight, not one (see discussion above). His goal scoring is picking up. According to Hoven, the Pacific division of the AHL with have a playoff tourney to determine the division champion. The bottom 4 teams will have a mini tourney (1 loss and your out) to determine who gets the 4th spot, then the top 4 teams will have a tourney (best of 3 each series) to determine the division winner. There is no Calder Cup this season due to Covid. Expect Byfield to be sent down to the Reign at the end of the Kings season to participate.

Matthew Villalta, who has been playing poorly overall most of the season in goal for the Reign, has rebounded after being benched by Wrobo in his typical start rotation for having a poor week of practice.
Since that time, he is 3-0, with a shutout, a 1.00 GAA, saving 100 of 103 shots.

Villalta is way better than everybody gives him credit for.

Used as leverage by a Russian? You don't say.

f*** him. Let him rot.
Personally would rather Shafigullin be playing a tonne in Russia than in Ontario where the Kings have enough prospects there. We'll see him in a year or two perhaps and he'll be better for it

Reign win their 3rd straight in Colorado with the 3rd game in 4 nights. Thomas had 1 goal and 2 assists and was named 1st star. The shot by Durzi was tipped by Thomas in the high slot for the game winner. Newhook two more goals for Colorado.

The Kings have to be very happy with how Thomas has played in his first year as a pro, he does a lot of things well and the offense has been better than I think a lot of us expected. My guess is the Kings probably see him as a future 3rd line winger next to JAD, assuming his offense can translate some to the NHL and he can be part of that top 9 the Kings need for the next generation.

Newhook already called up to the Avs earlier today, only to the taxi squad but my guess is they may see if they can use him for their run this spring, kind of like MTL with Caufield. He looked really good shooting the puck in that highlight, and his production obviously backs that up with 5/4/9 in only 8 games. If this kid ends up a star talk about the rich getting richer, at least they aren't in our division, that Avs team is going to be dominant for the next atleast 5-6 years assuming everyone is healthy.

Tyler Madden getting some facetime. Bummer his injury has set him back this year.

I just hope the kid recovers OK, and has no long-term effects. That kids biggest dilemma is whether he can put on some size. Unfortunately the poor kid will be away from hockey for almost 2 years with very little games in between if he does not get back until next year. Hopefully he is able to come back healthy, bigger, and stronger. He has the God-given ability and gifts to get over the lack of hockey. Just want him healthy.
