The paramedics, the doctors at the receiving hospital, and the contacts at Public Health all strongly advised against her visiting her mother while at home, but just about forbade her from going to the hospital with her during the transport.

We were told that if my wife had visited with her parents, even wearing a mask and face shield, that she should not return home where I, and the kids, were living unvaccinated due to the possibility of her contracting and passing on the virus.

She is fully vaccinated, and every single medial professional she spoke with said the exact same thing - do not get yourself exposed, even with ppe, and then go back to a house with unvaccinated people.

We very nearly lost my mother in law, my father in law also ended up in the hospital.
She was receiving 10L of oxygen per minute at one point in Barrie, he never went above 3L/m.

She is, thankfully, recovered from the illness although a little weak still, he is on 1L/min of oxygen over 6 weeks later, but also at home.

I 100%, wholeheartedly agree.

I also know that the stance of the public health professionals is: "Do everything possible to minimize the risk of Covid-19 outbreaks, regardless of whether you have been vaccinated".
We, as a society are not yet ready to get back to normal.

So, when the Ford government initially followed the advice of Public Health, I had absolutely no qualms with that decision.

Today, they reversed course and are allowing 550 people - not just anyone, but carefully chosen people.

I agree with the opinions that the risk to these people will be very small, but it's not only the direct people that we need worry about, it's usually the people surrounding them that need the protection.

I went for a walk Sunday and took down any anti-vax propaganda I could find along my route.

Yeah there have been planes with 100s of people sitting right next to each other going in and out of Ontario since this whole thing began, so this scenario at the Leafs game should hardly be of any concern.
