Im with you on all of the above however I am a night clencher and have split both my rear bottom molars so they are both gone now awaiting implants. Not the kind of implants I want to be paying for to be honest.
I'm a night clencher (thus have a night guard), but my dentist now says it looks like I clench teeth during the day as well. Apparently my unintended way of dealing with any kind of stress is simply to grind my teeth.

Another collision between the Valley Line LRT and a car this morning. The city needs to put up signs heading into town telling the public how many days it’s been since the last accident. Back to zero again.

 That ground level LRT is the dumbest idea when we already have 1 other LRT that doesn’t work properly. Hope nobody was hurt but this will be an ongoing thing while our city council tries to turn us into a European sunbelt city.

I am in Waterloo. Our whole LRT system is like the Valley Line. We have had plenty of accidents and no one seems to think it is a design flaw!!! Who in their right mind thinks having trains collide with bikes and cars on a regular basis is normal.

Brought to us by the same City planners that bought the latest round of 60M electric busses from an unestablished vendor that had just started into production. But as per usual the City had visions of "first on board" that they seem so into. The city in that ignored consultants advice to go slow on purchase if at.

In the case of the Valley Line surface rail the city did do studies of other lines that have had regular accidents and with these accidents not diminishing through time. Every bit of information could be gained from other cities that have gone this route that have had it turn into huge problems. City of course ignored the information from other jurisdictions, lets do it anyway...

Lets be frank here. The city is so into this inclusion movement that they would do anything to have a system whereby anybody can ride, instead of people just using say DATS if they need to get somewhere.

Nobody mentioned that the idiot driver was driving a stolen car. Some petty criminal idiot so stupid crashing into a train while driving a stolen vehicle who then gets on camera security footage fleeing probably while already on probation or on the lamb. Like these idiots exist among us. The city responds with videos reinforcing for people to obey the rules of the road and look out for signs and trains.

As if some doofus like this is going to obey anything. The city has more crime and criminals than any comparable city in Canada and obviously stuff like this could be anticipated. They didn't even catch the guy. He's free to steal somebody elses car and cause further damage. Would be released anyway..

Not mentioned either is that the Valley line operations was stalled for one hour due to this 8am accident. Meaning that everybody using the train to get to school, work, or anything was LATE. Think about it. This teaches people NOT to use it and that the system is NOT reliable for any number of reasons.

Street level trains can definitely work. The old LRT system ran for decades with few incidents. But you have to actually have a plan in place for how they mix with cars.
The Clareview line has crossing arms, advance flashing signals and the majority of it for a longtime was along a wide rail corridor with exceptional line of sight visibility. The initial Clareview line is on a previously established rail corridor. With not as many intersecting roads. Not sure its really a comparable. The Valley line goes through heavily used corridors, interesecting roadways and even pedestrian common crossing spots.
