Not sure if this was directed at me but...

I never complain about the pick. And I'm not now. Nothing wrong with commenting on how good Fowler is. McIlrath will be a solid defenseman too.

Not whatsoever. Towards the guy who complained about McIlrath always being injured.

I love Fowler. He played fantastic this morning.

Cool that your wife still let's you have a beer mirror and time to take down the x-mas stocking!!!

Hahaha every time I put this photo anywhere I get comments about the Christmas decorations. I'm allowed to be lazy, this is America.

And as far as the beer mirror, she's all over me to get rid of it and all remnants of my bachelorhood...

cry for poor PromNite... :help:

From an Isles Fan: Thank you McDonagh

I might be one of the .0001% of Islander fans (since 1975) who do not hate the Rangers, in fact, I like them a lot, just like the Isles more...there's a number of Rangers I actually really like and wish they were on the Isles: Nash, Kreider (who will own the league one day), Hagelin, Richards, Lundqvist, Boyle (one of THE classiest guys in the league), Girardi, but after today's game against the Russian Olympic team, on behalf of all Islander (and US hockey fans), a BIG thank you to McDonagh, who no doubt has been the best US defensman so far, including Suter.

Not only is he playing his off side, but he has been a vacuum cleaner on skates, sucking up every charge the russians made. I suck as a rec league player, but even still if I was an NHL-level talent facing a line with Ovechkin, Malkin and Datysuk, I'd run for cover. In my more familiar sport, it'd be like facing Bird, Magic and Jordan coming down 3-on-1.

Kudos to Ranger fans, if only the Isles had him....when does he become a free agent....? :yo:

I don't really "hate" the Isles either to be honest. I think for Rangers fans it kind of depends where you grew up and at what time. I grew up in northern NJ when the Devils were good, so that's the rivalry that will get the hairs standing up on the back of my neck even when it's a sleepy midseason game between two average teams. Don't particularly like the Isles either, of course, but I can feel for fans of a team that spends to the cap floor and it's not such a bad thing that I get to see so much of John Tavares, even if he's playing with mysterious transient linemates half the time.

The other guy's post got me thinking about Cally to the Isles...that sure would up the ante a bit, I have to imagine that with the Brooklyn move looming you guys will be flashing the cash.

What gets me about Team USA is how well they skate, individually and more importantly as a team. Any quickly assembled team of semi-strangers for a tournament is going to get better as they play more, but Team USA seems to have come out of the gate fast and damn they are fun to watch.

I forgot (if I ever really knew) the rules for the shootout. That was very weird from an NHL perspective. I've always known T.J. Oshie is a solid player but I was still surprised every time he opened up Bobrovsky and made it look easy. He knew what got Bobrovsky to bite, some kind of move or shift he made did it. The winning goal from him was masterful.

Edit: Oh yeah, good show from Callahan and McDonagh, how could I leave them out. McDonagh is simply one one of those players who will keep improving. I don't think we Rangers nuts have seen his ceiling yet.

this one is close by you

Look at all that beer flying

Not the distance that matters for me but the free pass which I'll be using for fantasy baseball draft. Stockpile the get out of jail free cards. Maybe I'll use one for the gold medal game...

I think Norway gets another Rude awekening in today's game..

Our play hasn't been that good lately.,

If we score first we have a good chance at a W..

geez, shorthanded breakaway for Austria... fortunately our goalie was awake. That was Grabner i think ?

And Zucc gets doubleshifted as usual... poor guy...lol

No doubt that Zucc is taking it easy out there to avoid injury. Does not help that he is playing 22-24 minutes a game. Seems uninspired.

Elliotte Friedman ‏@FriedgeHNIC 38s

Team USA announces Quick is getting day off...Howard will back up Miller. Also, looks like Stepan in for Pacioretty.

The team that scores next wins this one...

Norway needs to play harder and finish theire checks
