Hey look everybody, a swede and a canadian that can agree on something!
We belive it will be fine and it most likely will be, we're just saying "what if?" Then something like this enables the possibility of the swedish "hive mind" blaming the refs for being biased or the canadians blaming the refs for favoring sweden because they were trying to be impartial. It would be a lose-lose situation and we're just not used to it happening on this level. We feel that it would be so easy to avoid all of that (and by default the ****storm it's already caused here.)
I've been told that NHL-refs are the best.

I've been told that NHL-refs are the best.
Ottawa fans can't stand Tim Peel. Brad Meir is a good ref in my books.
NHL refs have been in the medal matches before and it has never been an issue.

I wounder what will happen if they make a bad call the last minut of the match that cost one of the team the game... it will be a living hell.

Wow a nice logical post that didn't accuse us of being corrupt cheats! Think that's all Canadians want here. I agree that if a bad call is made it will open up a can of worms that wouldn't be opened if you were dealing with non Canadian refs.

I do belive Brad Meier + Olenin or Rönn would have been a better option as people wouldn't be able to blame the ref for being biased if a controversial call occured. I just included Peel because I've seen how much people hate him which didn't go along with people talking about all the NHL-refs as being amazing.
No really, look at the original thread and you'll see that most swedes were saying the same. It was after the thread took a downwards spiral that people from both sides started throwing insults around.

Canadians and Swedish people have all ready agreed on something and that is who should be calling this game. If you don't like what your Swedish Ice Hockey Officials have agreed to you should take it up with them.
That's fine, but the definition of "best" should include the parameter of "country not involved".
Well to go with the territory, Vinnerborg has excellent remarks from the NHL. I do not want him reffing this game but there are heaps of other refs which would do. What abut an all US ref team so that you get your NHL refs at the ice. Is that so wrong?

Yep, it's frustrating that the IIHF voted for all Canadian referees because people will always hold it against them in one way or another no matter the result tomorrow. Even if they ref a perfect game, people will find a way to complain. It's just a needless distraction. Those are the cards we were dealt as fans however, and all we can do is hope for a well officiated game. Personally, I hope they just put the whistles away and let em play.
It's not only canadian ref would have ben just as bad if it was Swedish ref... I want it to be a neutral ref jug this game... Nothing more nothing less ther will allways be an "if"

With NHL fans it's more like being the lesser of a necessary evil, we ***** about our refs constantly
But, there are small handful of refs that everyone will universally agree are pretty good. I can't name them but I'm guessing these are the guys reffing the finals.
