Based on my understanding of the deal, anything within the top 13 auto defers the pick. I doubt they have the option to defer themselves

I was at the game and you could just see the loss coming. Why was Kreider playing? He looks checked out and there is no effort there. For as good Carrick has been this year, there is no reason he should be centering the 3rd line. I was pissed when Berard was scratched as I was looking forward to seeing his live. Sooooo disappointing to see that outcome!

However what people want to characterize Kreider, it's not enough to help them team right now. People conflate this with tarnishing his legacy. It's not. This is a results business, this thing called hockey.

Drury tied up 18.5m on two players that wouldn’t sniff anywhere near that total if they were FAs at the end of the year.

Let’s hope we get a competent house cleaning in the front office. There’s no use in discussing anything with this team until they toss Drury and Co out.

JT Miller is a good player but he honestly got overrated on this site, people were saying he was elite.

He's not close to a MacKinnon/Kucherov/Barkov kind of player in terms of taking over a game and carrying the play.

He's way closer to another Zibanejad before his game really went down the shitter if were being honest ,just a tad more potent of a scorer.

Been saying this for a while, but people bought into the hype. Not to say he’s not very good, because he is, but he’s not on the level of the elite #1 centers in the NHL.

Been saying this for a while, but people bought into the hype. Not to say he’s not very good, because he is, but he’s not on the level of the elite #1 centers in the NHL.

I think I, and just about everyone else, would have been 2x3 times more stoked to get Barkov, McKinnon or McDavid here. But those players are never available. And if they were, youd be starting with Fox and Perreault, not Chytil and Mancini.

It's more like us getting Brad Richards or not missing on Eichel. The hope is the guy is 10th-20th among the league centers.

Just that we had a 10-20 in Zibanejad who has fallen out of that over the last 2 seasons. We have it again in Miller, hopefull a while depending onhow he ages.

Losing this game and now you have to rely on your backup goalie and tired team on second night of back to back with travel. Really really really really really can’t lose this game especially when you’re up by 2 with just over 10 minutes left.

We improved our D by moving Kakko out, got our best player this year by moving Chytil out and improved our first line by moving Cuylle up. Crying over that third line is a little much. It made the rest of the team much better.
