Max Jones 2024-25 Edition

"I haven't seen anything in Jones that makes me think he should be on the roster at all. He isn't even a physical force. He just takes dumb penalties."

"Gotta feel for the guy. I had high hopes for his role but didn't see that fast hard hockey i was expecting come to think of it, only play i really remember from him is when he accidentally slashed the ref"

"A great day in Bruins Land. What a waste of money."

"Don’t know if injury got him or what. But he hasn’t shown anything to even be on an NHL roster early this season. If only we had got the guy I was familiar with. He would have been a fan favourite.

"Exactly how I feel. I like(d) the player a lot and thought he would be a great bottom six add for the team that was lacking grit and physicality. He's been terrible. I know he was hurt in camp (always the problem with him) and maybe never really got going and could still be hurt in some way. Best if he goes to Providence and tries to pull it together."

"I fully admit I thought Max Jones would be more impactful than he was. Which is sad because any sort of impact would have been better than he was."
Max Jones, Mac Jones — what’s in a name? Phonetically, they’re close enough to have been nothing more than a fail in Boston. 💀

Do you think the Habs have done a good job developing prospects the last 10 years?

Timmins said he felt they made a mistake when they brought Collberg over for camp because when he went back, he lost his spot in the lineup. But then they repeated the same mistake with Norlinder, who I kept saying should stay in the SHL another year. Yet he bounced around until he finally went back home.

Whatever anyone's opinions are, the only thing that matters is results in the end. Everyone makes mistakes, but with drafting, development, the more mistakes you make, the worse things end up. Everyone should just want what's best for the future of the Habs and no one really knows what that is so I don't get why people get defensive over anyone having a opinion pointing out a possible mistake.
You are reaching here. The examples you are sharing are both old and not necessarily relevant. Not all players become the gem we all wish them to be and it’s not always because of ‘development’. Maybe the Collberg example is because Collberg didn’t deserve a better spot in the lineup. Norlinder had plenty of time to prove himself. There is absolutely nothing wrong with giving Kapanen some NHL games and then returning him to Timra. He proved he is a capable NHL player at an already young age and will further work on his game there.

1M$. 2 years. But nope...that's too much. Small price to pay when you bring up Condotta, affecting Laval and not getting better too. And Jones fit the bill of the speed and toughness we needed.

But hey....i mean everything is going fine so who are we to judge....lol

condotta is already a proven bottom 6 in the nhL? When did that happen?
I think they are too close from the 50 contracts and they don't want to add more with all the prospect coming up eventually
