Possibly the best playoff game the McDrai era Oilers have played. Absolutely for sure the best first game of a playoffs they have played.

Every move KK made in lineup including upping Henrique on first line was the right decision. If Desharnais banged up I would insert Stecher though for game 2.

Yeah. Like I said we had something on every line and Kings weren't getting any easy shifts they could just exploit. To that degree I really do believe the pace of Holloway, of Janmark it impacted and they were better in lineup than Ryan or Brown would be.

Honestly if you reversed puck luck in that game its a 10-1 win for the Oil. Talbot got extremely lucky on at least 6 or 7 occasions swimming in his crease with the puck bouncing all over the place. I might be being generous when I say 10-1 and not 15-1.

Pretty clear his focus was up a few notches from regular season. Nice thing with skilled vets, they have an extra gear for the real games.

He didn't even look at Nurse when he was apologizing and didn't seem too impressed at the end of the game.

No he didn’t. People are gonna look at the final score and assume we had crappy goaltending tonight whe he had a great game.

The Nurse goal was bad enough but wtf was Ceci thinking throwing that puck towards 2 Kings alone in front of the net? Our defence men scare the hell out of me. These stupid plays happen a lot to them and we aren’t always up by four goals when it happens.

Yup, been seeing the bolded in other Around the League threads (though with how 'knowledgeable' some of those fanbases are, they may have watched the game and still came to the same incorrect conclusion).

Yep. Gotta keep pedal to the metal. Kings just don't quit. hard to match the Oilers superstar skill. One thing different this playoffs so far is Oilers are getting the PP's . That helps too. Sure can't complain about officiating tonight.

I also think Henrique fits better than Nuge on that top line and vice versa on the 2nd line. Henrique is a slower version of Nuge, but he's a better goalscorer, and Nuge is a better defensive conscience for Draisaitl while being a better playmaker to utilize Drai's dual threat (something that Henrique-Foegele don't complement).

PLD was atrocious tonight.

his goal tonight was pretty much the epitome of his entire season. Low effort.

That contract/trade seems like a big oopsie.

One non hockey comment but that was the most pathetic hat collection effort ever. They were just randomly skating around and grabbing hats. Shovels and big bags folks.

Kings did what the Oilers did last year, went looking for trouble after every whistle and eventually the refs started calling them. Oilers unfortunately kept that up for 2 more games but I imagine the Kings will read the room and adjust for next game.

A lot of that was on the Kings. A dirty crosscheck into Hyman's face and a very very dirty low hit on Vinny. They deserved the PP advantage.

He legitmately looked afraid in the box because he f***ed up majorly. he knows he's gonna lose his teeth over this one yet. Its worse when you don't know when its coming. Probably later in series but Moore is gonna get it.
