Remember when people were calling Kane our new Lucic after 3 games?
Those people aren’t even worth responding to. They clearly have no clue about hockey. Kane has been nothing but a positive for this club on the ice since he came on board. And by all accounts a complete gentleman in the community as well. We don’t have many nice things on this team, f*** those people who can’t appreciate Kane.

Agreed. Guy has been bringing it every game even in games when he was the only one doing anything of note. He and Hyman have been the engine this season.

Also, and I keep saying this, the Oilers need something ANYTHING from the bottom 6. They aren't going anywhere without some contribution from them.
McLeod's lack of production is worrying. Especially considering he doesn't bring anything physical and he's not a defensive stalwart. I think a 3rd line C should be near or at the top of our shopping list.

Great comeback by Kane, guy is clutch when he's on and it's nice to see him having success after a very trying calendar year.

Everyone complains about Bouchard all game, and he was fighting it at times, but he gets the ice time because he's a gamebreaker back there - both positively, and sometimes negatively. Think he played the majority of that OT too, something we usually only see from Mcdavid/Drai.

Speaking of which, really hope Mcdavid heals up soon. We are starting to flashes of his gamebreaking talent which is more than what we were seeing a few weeks ago, but something is still so very wrong.
Good recognition from coach not only to use D so much in OT but to give Kane, obviously feeling it, out in the OT more shifts than normal. I think it was a masterstroke in a game most of our wingers weren't feeling it and recognizing the D skills on the puck we have with this team.

2.5 G/G is bad. 3 is over their usual score. right. Doesn't make Skinners game exceptional tonight. 2 of the Seattle goals were weak on Skinners part. As per usual he created one with a rebound.

People see what they want to. I'd argue that he never had a chance on either.

But he had a .917 SV% that speaks for itself, I mean that's the be all and end all stat for goaltending on this board.

How many more in a row do they need to realistically make up for that terrible start?
I don‘t think it’s a big win streak that is the hallmark. It’s something like an 8-2, followed by a 7-2-1 run and then keep rolling from there that will show me they can get back in. They really can’t afford any big losing streaks again.

Didn't see the whole game. What goal was Bouchard's fault? Are ppl blaming him for that braindead play where the winger had full control, passed it back into him who was dbl covered, and he still managed to win his battle and chip it up ice?

Puck went to the point sure, but that was all on the winger for sticking him into a terrible position

Great offensively, shit defensively. So essentially he is what we say he is.
Bouchard for Rover. Just get one of our sadsack wingers to cover back. Namely anybody not named Kane or Hyman.

Really liking how Knob is getting our jump D going. That opens up so much ice. On a team with Nurse, Booch, Ekholm, Kulak, even Ceci, and Broberg how is it possible that Woody and Manson utilized the skills of this D set so LITTLE.

its uncanny. Its as if they all had a red light. It negated some of their strong sets as D, now unlocked.

Ugly but exciting.

Can’t remember the last time we scored with a min left. Doesn’t happen often.

Huge game from Kane.

You take the good with the bad with Bouchard. We don’t win this game without him. He is a roller coaster though.

Pretty gritty game from Skinner. He battled.

Same game Tanev misses net 3X on open nets because he's useless Tanev. Gourde blows every chance he has in the game. McCann heels pucks. Skinner was out of position lots, and Seattle backfired lots. Take the W and move on. Not worth discussing this further. This was 3 GA in a game where Seattle were squandering wide open looks. Oilers need to be better, but I'll take the 2pts gladly.
