Couldn't happen to a more deserving fan base. With all the countless threads about other teams and players derailed by trolling Oilers fans makes this place borderline unreadable at times.

They officially have ZERO ground to stand on in terms of slagging other teams.

Agreed, but it's really hilarious stuff. They slag everyone, really. I've read Oilers fans post about how Bettman hates Canada so much, about how the refs are out to get them, about how fans of other teams "haven't suffered" (tell that to BJs fans, their team's the Milhouse van Houten of hockey) as much as they have, about how Arizona is a blight on the league (YMMV, but I'd take it a lot more seriously from a fan of a team that doesn't waste all those first round draft picks; McDrai ain't the only wasted talents), about how Vegas and Tampa are "cheaters" (despite the shit Chicago pulled with Hossa, but they're an 06 team, so they're fine), about how they hate the NHL so much they are going to the NFL (which is arguably even worse if you want to talk about corruption and ineptitude), and so on and so forth. I know I was poking fun at the Oilers fans on here before, but honestly, they're not all bad. I know a few in real life who are pretty chill people.

It's just that the ones online, at least here, tend to be pretty extreme. Like, it's okay to admit you've grown out of hockey, folks. You don't need to throw in a bunch of conspiratorial BS.

Lots of hate here.
Yup.

It's because a lot of us have had to hear how the Oilers are the best team in he west and that it's Cup or Bust non-stop.

It's called 'play dumb games, win dumb prizes' and right now the Oilers prize is being a laughing stock wrapped in a joke cushioned by ineptitude.

Looks good on arrogant fans, too.

Can I ask, how are these complaints any different than the complains of almost every other team? Every fan base complains about Bettman, reffing, suffering, and cap circumvention.

I would wager there is a complaint about reffing in almost every single gdt, on each team board, for every game.

Not even close.. we've been much worse than this. This is 12 shitty games. We had 10 shitty years! Those rosters did not have NHL players. This one has at least a dozen.

The only move is to fire Holland to day. Won't fix the team but any other firing is stupid. Send a message that they understand the guy at the top built a shit D.

I've never understood the Oilers fandom's fascination with claiming it's only been ten years, a "decade" of darkness. You've had thirty two shitty years.

If they need 94 pts to make the playoff this season, they need to be a .636 teams until the end of the year to have 89 out of the 140 pts left.

Last season they were a .665 team without removing a bad stretch out of it showing it is still quite possible (but as pointed out a .665 team with a 32.3% power play success rate).

Possible, but they need to be a Top 8-10 teams whole league wide from now to the end and start real quick to be.

That's quite true, and I find that all hilarious too, but Oilers fans cheer for a team that had the greatest player of all time (though he himself thought that was Howe) at one point, that has won five Stanley Cups, that has won multiple draft lotteries, etc, etc.

It's all a matter of perspective to me. I can easily sympathize if a Sabres fan like yourself vented to me. Y'all have had a really bad time.

But the Oilers? Sure, I'll say it sucks for individual fans, but I wouldn't say the Oilers fandom has suffered all that much. Other teams' fans have had it worse.

Hell, try being a White Sox fan if you really want to know suffering in sports. Oilers fans have it good compared to quite a few.

I don't know why anyone would hate them. I certainly don't. Since 2010, the Oilers have been the greatest comedy show on ice. I even saw on HFOil somebody posted a collection of all the hilarious quips and quotes they've given us. From "I know something about winning" to "visually, to me, we're a better hockey team."

I'm not kidding when I say many a bad day has been turned into a good day just being able to laugh at just how absurdly inept their front office is.

And when McDrai inevitably bail, and what remains of the front office has to somehow explain it to the media, I'll be there, laughing as always.

Hey now, c'mon fellas, analytically they've been spectacular!

Just ask....whoever this guy is. :biglaugh:

Ah, that guy is up there with Toronto Baghead and his ilk as "I was just pretending to be an idiot" level trolls. I wouldn't give that guy the time of day.

I figured it has to be some kind of act, no one's that oblivious lol

It's entertaining at least.

2016 was glorious and we were in a cup final against the Canes on a glorious run in 2005. Last few years were very good and we probably have more playoff and series wins then most franchises. Eg. Avs won a cup and didn't make playoffs last year. Vegas won a cup and didn't make the playoffs the year before.

I get you want to dunk on us... but recently we've been good. 3 series wins in the last 2 playoffs. Playoffs 3 years in a row (4 if you want to count the covid playin thing or whatever that was.lol). That's better than most.

Last 3 seasons we are 8th in wins.

6th in playoff wins in the same frame

McDavid Finally realized this view is trash, and it is affecting his play

Way to cherrypick a low quality screengrab from a dreary day when all the leaves have fallen. Here's a streetview from his front sidewalk on a nice day. From where his deck is the view would be gorgeous, you'd be able to see the entire river valley. I know a guy who lives a couple doors down and that area is beautiful.

Also proves that the Oilers are a one man show. When McDavid isn't lighting up the league, this is what you get.

Lots of people are guessing the McD has a minor injury, which shows how painfully little he has to offer when he doesn't have his speed, which I never would have expected.

This is what the Oilers look like when McD and Drai are not scoring at 120 points pace....

Waiting for some more hfboards experts to come and tell us again how the Oilers need McD to score less to become dominant ;)

Draisaitl is vastly over rated, McDavid is playing injured.
Hilarious how Draisaitl has a bad stretch and is immediately considered to be overrated after outscoring anyone not named McDavid for 5 years. McDavid wasn't injured starting off the season and played worse than Draisaitl, when healthy he played worse than Draisaitl in 2/3 of their playoff games.

Draisaitl just had the worst start of a season in years, and is still just 4 points behind Matthews with one game in hand, who arguably has had the best start of a season in his career, who has functional line mates and a team that only looks half as bad as the Oilers.

McDrai are certainly not the problem.
