McDavid lacks leadership. He’s a point machine but does NOTHING to improve those around him. In fact, present day evidence points towards him actually having a negative effect on the team. The best thing Oilers could do is trade McD, but their fans and leadership are of course too short sighted to see this.
Give love to the mods. They try their best to keep this place sane.
On it
He’s been great at inflating PP numbers. 5 on 5, not so much.Countless players have had career years playing with McDavid but he does nothing to improve his teammates. Make it make sense.
How is it both goalies in Bakersfield have well over. 900 save percentages and Campbell a so called 5 million dollar NHL starting goalie gets lit up his first game is said league? He was good with Kings and Leafs.Solid save percentages
And I think most teams know Edmonton is a place where goalies just don't get much support. So he could get back to.a good place.
It terms of Bakersfield, culture permeates throughout the organization
Edmonton is a depressing place, especially in winter.Lol holy shit that looks depressing
Yes, the fanbase is having a martini for Celebrini.Has anybody mentioned them getting the next 1OV yet?
It’s wild how good the Canucks amateur and pro scouting has been under new management and that department is managed by Cammi Granato. Maybe it’s time for the era of the New Girls Club instead.
This aged
The real question lost in this: does this indisputably make the Oilers "horror-bad", as well?
When they aren’t on the ice with him picking up neutral zone assists they immediately regress to their norm. Unlike true leaders like Crosby who have lasting positive impacts on those he spends time on ice with.Countless players have had career years playing with McDavid but he does nothing to improve his teammates. Make it make sense.
It's math those teams all play each other always 2 points award sometimes 3 among that bunch.
A couple of those teams will get in the 90's in terms of points
To make the playoffs Oilers have to go 18-20 games over .500.
But the overriding reason why the Oilers won't make playoffs is I don't think they they can replicate their powerplay percentage from last year. It was lethal and hid all kinds of warts.
Now if they get back to that 30 percent level I will believe they will finish the year 20 games over .500 and get in.
Couldn't happen to a more deserving fan base. With all the countless threads about other teams and players derailed by trolling Oilers fans makes this place borderline unreadable at times.
They officially have ZERO ground to stand on in terms of slagging other teams.
Ah yes the 1 game sample size after just getting sent downHow is it both goalies in Bakerthsfield have well over. 900 save percentages and Campbell a so called 5 million dollar NHL starting goalie gets lit up his first game is said league?
Meh. Every fanbase has their share of those type of fans. Especially the Canadian ones.Couldn't happen to a more deserving fan base. With all the countless threads about other teams and players derailed by trolling Oilers fans makes this place borderline unreadable at times.

I’m honestly not sure Oilers fans actually care about how their team does. They just like to have massive HFBoards circle jerks about how they have “the two best players in the world” and make ridiculous threads/posts about how McDavid is supposedly worth the core of a championship team all by himself. And when McDrai walk they won’t even have that - it’s almost enough to make me feel sorry for them…almost.
I don't get the feeling he's going to care about market size, he wants the damn Cup. He's going to go to a team with a strong defensive foundation where him coming up vaults them all the way over the top. And I don't mean a team with a strong offensive punch from the blue line, I'm talking a team that knows how to keep the puck out of their own net.
Carolina
Buffalo
Boston
Tampa
Those are a few I can think of right off the bat where him coming in would immediately push them over the top
You say that like it's a bad thing.Meh. Every fanbase has their share of those type of fans. Especially the Canadian ones.
Yea he shouldn’t be playing, but Edmonton is desperate and we’ve all seen how pathetic they are without him.MacKenzie Blackwood was just arrested in San Jose for theft.
This is all happening because I got McDavid (who?) on my fantasy team.
Lemieux played through cancer and couldn’t even tie his skates yet was still a better player. Gretzky took a cross check from Sutter that injured him good for life. What’s McDavid’s excuse? If he’s so injured, he shouldn’t be playing - not like he’s doing anything out there anyways .
So in other words, they play better when they're on the ice with him. Yup, that's definitely not improving your teammates. When they aren’t on the ice with him picking up neutral zone assists they immediately regress to their norm. Unlike true leaders like Crosby who have lasting positive impacts on those he spends time on ice with.
