I can't remember the last time there was a team under intense pressure to win a specific game a dozen games into the season, but you have to believe the Oilers are feeling it right now not to lose to a Sharks team that has a chance to be one of the worst teams of the modern era.

If the Oilers lose this game after the expectations they came into the season with, their awful start, and this team as the softest game of the year.... yikes.

Very quickly, the Oilers will simply give up on trying to restructure their defense to a zone and go back to what was alleged to be a man defense but was really just cheating for the rush. They'll start having fun and outscoring their opponents again and that will get them firmly onto the bubble. Of course, the same defense will result in the same early exit from the playoffs.
