If I'm not mistaken, Ehlers is #1 in NHL points right now. Below is before tonights game. McDavid and Draisaitl both had 2 points tonight, with puts them at 14 and 13. Ehlers had 4 points which puts him at 15.

Ehlers has 11 after that game (11 in 7). Still impressive though, we're going to have a lot of PPG+ players.

Perhaps it is time for Wheels and Chief to get the divorce papers....

Or maybe a weekend off at a Honeymoon Hotel...

Even though I am happy the Jets won... Chef & Wheels level of play didn't deserve those extra minutes...

Other players should have been rewarded with them...

Chef & Wheels need more time to think about "Manning up"... I think 4 line rotation with near even minutes when Dubois arrives would be a good move for the Jets...

I am not certain who is going to make that happen...

Come on. It’s a long season, even when shortened.
Its the biggest fools errand on this board is the complaints about ice time. A couple minutes more of ice time in a game has far less impact on players that a rough travel schedule and B2B on the road when you get to your hotel at 3:00 AM. The circumstances of this season will actually help keep players fresher even with a compressed schedule.

So lets change from minutes to...

Maybe us other Jets fans want to see players who are demonstrating energy... excellence... execution...

What's wrong with that.

Tippet on why he didn’t call a time out. “They were tired (guess he means shif line) so didn’t want them to rest.”

I appreciate the thought but man tippet they were hot garbage. Let them rest and score another goal.

thank you tippet

it is the coaches job to make that happen, but I doubt it will happen. This treatment of Scheif and Wheeler has been happening for years.

If the Oilers drop their next couple against Toronto they honestly might be out of contention already.

The temperature is going to be rising in northern Alberta man. Today was a miust-win for them.

Well sorry for wanting to see more Ehlers. What kind of signal is Maurice sending right now? I honestly think he’s trying to tell Ehlers to emulate the big boys more. 26 mins vs 16 mins, game in and game out, is not ok.

Why was he even put on the first line to start the season? To mess with him?

So Helle turns from Pumpkin to wall at 8pm Central. Good on him. Lots of run support.

Great game to watch. Jets are fun this year. Maurice still doing weird shit - stays with what he knows doesnt work.

Wheeler had a rough night - our whole #1 line did.

PLD will be a nice problem to have. But seriously, this Scheif / Wheeler have to always be together and always be #1 thing needs to go. If they earn it, sure. If not, turn the page fast.
Yet Maurice put the second line together, and - for the most part, the first line is usually quite dangerous, so...

I know giving Maurice credit is frowned upon

Maybe all the Laine giveaways were messing up Ehlers’ momentum.
His production is finally matching his play.

We've talked here before that Ehlers used to look to pass far too much to Laine in the past at times.......2nd line better now without Laine? Not bc Laine isn't talented obviously, but in the past Stats (or all our centres) & Ehlers passed too much to Laine which was very predictable to defend vs. Interesting to see how this plays out long term, not just a small sample size. But at this point, small sample size yes......the 2nd line is looking better (historically) without Laine on it. Haha

If you’re Paul, do you sit both Mark and Pierre down in a closed locker-room and tell them.

“Boys, I’m going to play the hot hand. Whichever one of you gets more points in the game, gets to play first line minutes for the next game.”

This way (1) there’s no complaints about favouritism, (2) Both guys are motivated to score for their respective lines, (3) The entire team benefits.
