Really hope they don't split up the Stastny line when Dubois gets here.
Small sample of course but 5 of the top 11 scorers in the NHL are Jets and Adam Lowry is a point per game...
Forbort was much better this game, still not a fan of some of his decisions.
Or lossesI **love** come from behind wins.
There really is something wrong with the ice time:
McDavid: 18.38
CSW: 23.30/26:12 (!!!)/22:31
Ehlers: 16.19
Scheifele is playing 1D+ minutes now.
It’s just ridiculous. I’m not sure Mo has it in him to keep CSW under 20 min. Tonight the guy has other lines rolling but just can’t f’n do it. Tired, indifferent, don’t give a shit about the excuse it’s on the Coach to make the right in game calls. It makes you wonder that CSW still comes off with 22,23 and 26 mins of toi, and the 2nd line 16,17 and 18.
Yeah. Ehlers with 16... Only 13 mins of ES.
I have to say I was starting buy into the narrative of "Perreault is just a washed up 4th liner now" at the beginning of the season but he has shown himself to be fantastic with Lowry, looks like Perreault of the old.
Paul Maurice is like a Crystal Meth addict and Chef is the meth...
Yeah, I started panicking when Nikky went down. Scary. I don't care if Forbort or Booboo are playing "okay" - Heinola is still better, and we should be icing the best lineup. Even rotating would be smart, because you don't want to end up with a situation with injuries and then throwing Heinola in after not playing for a month or something...Just some thoughts:
- ESC line was great and was the reason we won that game.
- Lowry was a good choice to play against the McD line, although it was annoying that it took so long for Pomo to switch em up.
- Forbort is starting to get more comfortable within our systems I think. As we go along, he might get better. Still slow though.
- Hellbuck started rusty again, but again, through the rest of the game, he locked it down. Good goalies can do that.
- scary watching ehlers down. Without him, our offence might've suffered hard these next few weeks.
- Stanley seems fine, I wouldn't mind seeing Heinola or Samberg as well sometimes. We know Pomo won't pull the Beaulieu because he's the vet.
If this were to really happen, will Scheifele pout and adopt a bad attitude?I'd put him on the first line, Scheifele needs to know there is a challenger. I honestly think he is content with thinking he is the #1 center forever. Otherwise, second line. He's that good. I think he would compliment Ehlers and Copp even more than Statsny.
You know the Oilers defense is bad when Nurse is part of their number one D pair. (Correct me if he's not a 1D pair). He doesn't have good hockey IQ and he takes too many penalties. They should too. Tippet makes a lot of head scratching decisions. Seems pretty stubborn too.
But also they just have an abomination of a bottom 6 and a defense that's somehow worse than ours, so I don't know if it all falls on Tippett
Yeah, Maurice finally "listened" to us and started matching Lowsy vs McD a bit.Oilers fans saying they got outcoached tonight.

With a game in hand to boot. Edit: I think that's already updated stats, though...?If I'm not mistaken, Ehlers is #1 in NHL points right now. Below is before tonights game. McDavid and Draisaitl both had 2 points tonight, with puts them at 14 and 13. Ehlers had 4 points which puts him at 15.
I'm biased off course, but I feel Jets legit have the best depth in the North Division. What I find interesting is people relishing one line or certain players having an off game. When in reality really good teams survive off games by their stars because they have enough other talented players who can step up. Tonight was important not because Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler had an off game, but rather we have enough talent for other players to step up and take control of the game. This will be a very very good team once we add PLD to the mix.
