Just some thoughts:
- ESC line was great and was the reason we won that game.
- Lowry was a good choice to play against the McD line, although it was annoying that it took so long for Pomo to switch em up.
- Forbort is starting to get more comfortable within our systems I think. As we go along, he might get better. Still slow though.
- Hellbuck started rusty again, but again, through the rest of the game, he locked it down. Good goalies can do that.
- scary watching ehlers down. Without him, our offence might've suffered hard these next few weeks.
- Stanley seems fine, I wouldn't mind seeing Heinola or Samberg as well sometimes. We know Pomo won't pull the Beaulieu because he's the vet.

So Helle turns from Pumpkin to wall at 8pm Central. Good on him. Lots of run support.

Great game to watch. Jets are fun this year. Maurice still doing weird shit - stays with what he knows doesnt work.

Wheeler had a rough night - our whole #1 line did.

PLD will be a nice problem to have. But seriously, this Scheif / Wheeler have to always be together and always be #1 thing needs to go. If they earn it, sure. If not, turn the page fast.

What a fun game, probably the most fun I’ve seen in a long time.

That "second" line is insane. Ehlers is having a career year, and I truly think that Stastny is underrated. The second line has ALWAYS played great when he’s on it. Such a shame he went to the VGK for a few seasons, he’s been missed.

Lowry was a frigging beast. McDavid proved once again he’s the best in the world.

Winnipeg may hoist the cup.

Aside from the 2nd line, I really just wanted to stress that Perreault has really looked good these last few games. Our middle six is killing teams, and our 4th line has been pretty steady. When Scheifele and Wheeler get their ass in gear we are going to look pretty scary.

Defense is still a very big issue, but I agree - at least offensively, we will be hard to match. We've stuck gold with line 2 so far. Line 3 are no chumps either.

I don't know how we could mess with the 2nd or 3rd lines when Dubois gets here. They've both looked amazing.

Stastny's play to set up Ehlers was beautiful.

Harkins deserves more of an opportunity. Wouldn't mind seeing him on Dubois's line when he gets here.

Quick thoughts:

-Copp was amazing. Hopefully he doesn’t price himself out of Winnipeg. One less goal on the year than McDavid

-Lowry owned McDavid

-Stastny and Ehlers have great chemistry together. Edmonton’s defense is terrible, but it’s amazing to see those two draw several Oilers to them and then find each other in a prime scoring position. They know exactly where each other are.

-Just imagine when PLD arrives. Oh, baby

-Hellesuck came to play again today but thankfully he did enough to win

-Pretty good defensive effort all around

-Scheifele and Wheeler need less ice time. They’ll probably play better with less ice time. Why they were on the ice against McDavid at the end of the game is beyond me.

-Would like to see the fourth line play more. I’m waiting for a Harkins breakout. He looks so dangerous. Give him more ice time/better linemates and he should be good

-Frenchie looked good again

-Jets seem very resilient this year

-Draisaitl with an obvious, egregious dive to draw the opening PP. Not sure why they have embellishment as a penalty when they never call it. That was bad enough they could’ve fined him

-What surprised me about McDavid this game is he kept falling over whenever anyone would touch him. Either he’s diving for penalties, or his balance/strength is off. Even more reason to match Lowry up against him.

-Oilers are still just a two player team. They’re going no where

Good win, on to the next one. One game closer to PLD’s debut
