Yep nothing like a late game and then moving back in timezones for the next game. That will be a toughy.

Yep. Called that a couple months ago. The guy is a real player as well. People were sleeping on this one. Great find by Holland.
This is the kinds of trade good teams need to make. Change of scenery trades where you find a guy who isn’t fitting in that has potential.

Hopefully he doesn’t leave us to go win 3 cups in a row like Maroon.

Great to see Kostin contribute offensively and continue with the physicality, something sorely missing without Kane. Holland still needs to find some functional toughness in the bottom six, can't believe I'm agreeing with Stauffer on that one.

Campbell tomorrow, huh.. oh man. Might be able to pull the win though with Winnipeg having tonnes of regulars out of the line up. Still, it's going to be tough.
Both Kane and Kostin flanking one of McDavid or Draisaitl or Nugent-Hopkins would be a fun line to watch.

This guy is going to be a fan favorite quickly if not already. Just extend him now.

What's lost in the physicality and the goals he's scored is that he's a smart player. Sound defensively, makes some nice passes too, solid positionally. I'm intrigued to see how much growth potential he has.

He talked about how much playing for Bob Hartley when he went back to Russia helped his defensive game.

He played for Omsk in the KHL under him. Won a KHL Championship playing for Hartley.

He’s a well rounded and responsible player

A good old fashioned steam rolling by our offense. It was one of those 80s kind of wins. Not much to complain about even if the reffing was iffy.

If McDavid gets 70 goals by the end of the year, I'm going to faint.

Normally you would say no chance but hey, if anyone can do anything that's "on pace" it's him.

The other good thing about Kostin is it wouldn't hurt to have a Russian player in the lineup so that maybe Russian players don't just look at our roster and want to pass on playing here because there's no other Russians here. I'd like to see him get a stretch with McDavid or Drai.

Sportsnet pumping Pornstache postgame by “Most Goals in 2022” - a stat that never before I’ve ever heard.

f*** off and die SN.

That's terrible by Sportsnet, considering that it's kind of only half true since he's tied with McDavid as of tonight (57 goals each). McDavid also has 30 more points (as of tonight).

Also, 2022 still has one more day left, so that's kind of a premature thing to broadcast...

I’m at my girlfriend’s house but true lolol
My girlfriend has one similar to that too (but bigger) but puts it on a table behind the couch and hits me in the head sometimes haha. In fairness to her, it's a studio so not much room elsewhere.

I'm privileged to watch the best player on the planet in Oiler silks for the next 3.5 seasons.

Let's enjoy it because as the old expression goes--"all good things got to come to an end" (but whoever said that may not have considered a contract extension).

How about that Kostin deal? No mention of it in the Fire Holland thread.

Klim Reaper is a charismatic guy. That interview was awesome. He‘s developing confidence and seems comfortable as an Oiler.

Good looking kid too, he’s a gem and an absolute keeper going forward.
As long as he is good looking nothing else matters.

This reminds me of the game in Seattle last year when they were down some guys (I think Drai actually missed that game too) and beat them in a physical affair which was a real TEAM win and thrusted them forward. Hopefully this has the same effect. McDavid was well.... McDavid, The Klim Reaper keeps taking victims, Nuge keeps assassinating the opposition...silently and Skinner keeps skinning 'em. Lets ground those Jets tomorrow night.

The craziest thing about this game is Puljujarvi waiting out a goalie and picking a corner.

To be fair he had like 10s all alone in the slot. Lol.

That's the most free I've seen a forward at 5 on 5 I can recall... and I unfortunately recall a lot of the decade of darkness.

Was there ever even a good replay of what the hell happened with Kostin? It was a full pileup by the time cameras got around to it.

Islands in the stream.
I mean, we scored just as many goals as the kraken with McDavid on the bench.

If the reffing is this atrocious on Tuesday I'll blow a gasket. Tanev somehow not getting a penalty and Olelsiak not getting a 5 min and ejection for third man is the worst call I've seen in a long long time.
I can't believe how Oleksif*** wasn't thrown out. Most ridiculous non call. Never knew you could just grab a guy from behind who's in a fight and not get third man in. Plus he's tryting to fight the Oilers after that and resisting officials. Thought he was out for sure. he was completely unglued.
