Goodbye Gaudreau.

Not the recently drafted part, but you get it.

I think he'll be chasing around that Gretzky kid they drafted down in cow town. His name was Gretzky right? Or maybe it was Jankowski they sound the same so its hard to really tell the difference, especially with the way Feaster hyped the kid up.

IMO they rushed Pitlick. AHL is a bit of a goon league (outside Calder playoffs). Pointless fights, questionable hits, sloppy play. If you aren't physically ready then you are putting a prospect in danger.

C.Hamilton + R.Martindale never had the hockey IQ nor elite skill so the AHL exposed them.

Anyhow, I hope they don't rush these centers. Put them on winning teams and learnwinning ways. You know who likes losing? Losers.

EDIT: Has Travis Ewanyk been forgotten? How's his progression?

Sounds like Khaira and Yakimov had a strong nights. I'm interested to see what Khaira does in camp. I really hope he comes in and makes things "interesting".

It would be nice to see the Oilers have a guy "come out of nowhere" to have a positive impact on the team.

I like that Khaira & Yak2 are both defensively responsible as well.

Gotta give the scouts credit on JarJar too, so far he looks like a hidden gem.

Darnell Nurse showed up to the camp with a chip on his shoulder, there is no reason to believe he isnt going to do the same when training camp starts. He is not content with the idea of going back to SSM you can just see it. He is going to make it very hard to send him back down imo.

Just looking at Nurse in the interviews, you can see the added weight and muscle. We need a nasty big dman on this team in a big way. Last year, Nurse might have been a little nervous and tentative being in his first camp. This year, he's on a mission to make this club. I'm very excited to see him at TC in September.

Our top 6 is pretty much set going forward, so its great to see the size combined with skill of some of our prospects, who might make up our 3rd and 4th lines. And thats not even including guys who didn't play last night like Moroz (6'3, 214 lbs) and Slepyshev (6'2).

Just watched the Highlights, Nurse looks frightening and I thought he was taking it easy-ish on teammates, look out opponents.

And watching that I think I saw a lot of Greg Chase, he's going to be an NHL player. He may never be a high end player, but he'll play. He thinks the game well and that tenacity.

McCurdy mentioned that, though this was an intra-squad game and a full-time 4-on-4, that Nurse was still all over the place.

Obviously the spacing changes up how he's going to play the d-zone coverage, but I think coverage seems to be one of the things that take d-men the longest to learn.

The only real critique of Nurse's play on the Barons during the playoffs was similar.

It's a good sign that he looks like a man amongst boys, but I'm not counting him as ready for a roster spot yet.

Neither am I, though I wonder if the "spacing" on D-Zone coverage is the negative impact of him being the best player on his Junior team, he takes so much more on him then would in the NHL.

Ha, its so hypocritical of how they label Gaudreau as a future star, and yet those same flames fan are the one mocking Nuge for being "small."

Yeah in his mind he is probably picturing having to attend development camp 3 times and that would be failure for him.

What is guaranteed is that TC and exhibition is going to be fun to watch.

When was the last time that the 4 best prospects we have at our prospects camp, are all scary ass dudes to be lined up against, with maybe the exception of Drai. Glad to see down the road size won't be a huge issue. And it'll be nice to have Nurse and Yakimov come into camp and make everyone else work to keep their spots.

If he turns out, that would be fantastic. The team has needed a Cooke/Avery-type since ... Tikkanen?

What do you mean they rushed pitlick? How much lower of a league do you put guys in? They did anything but rush him, he's a combo og bad injury breaks and just not that great of a player like most of our other picks out side the 1st round.

He needed another season in the WHL (Marincin spent the 11-12 season in the Dub) or should have stayed another year or two in the NCAA.

Skillwise he's leaps beyond the neanderthal C.Hamilton. He's first-round talent.

Ryan Martindale is/was the project.

That's ok, even though our blueline isn't anything to write home about at least one that Mac T was successful at was bringing in enough NHL caliber defenders that we don't have to play Nurse or Klefbom next year at all if we don't want to.

Just checked out a few of the orientation video's from Jasper.

First off, when they interviewed that US Ranger, I was thinking that it would be nice if a few of our roster players took part in that campout.

The one thing that is really sticking out for me is the inner confidence that Darnell Nurse is displaying. Wouldn't be too surprised if he makes the team this year.

At the least the 9 games to see where he's at with people his own size. He pretty much dwarfs the rest of the players there, except for a few like Drai and Yaks2.

Cannot wait for training camp. We might see something a little bit different this year than in previous years.
