I know the default is it overreact to one game, and they lost this one in a poor fashion, but you can see where the team can win on the balance of the roster. They’ve got more than one or two weapons.

Not concerned over this one.

Read through this thread (at work) has been like reading the unhinged ramblings of a schizophrenic bipolar.

Up and Down, up and down. Mood Swings.

tough game but dare i say a good learning experience.

canucks got punked.

hughes in particular.

hopefully they don't forget how and adjust accordingly. in spite of all the weapons they are not going to win on skill alone. they will have to get dirty.

horvat is now my biggest worry. he was a complete non factor in that game.

Hard lesson ...Blowing a 3-0 lead, and losing the game...Special teams looked like last year...Basically, a collapse..good teams dont do that..Bruce still has a 'work in progress' here.

This is not a good team. They went all in and have a mediocre team. An Edmonton team that gave up half a dozen PPs and looked terrible to start was basically playing with their food the whole game. This team can’t stop CM97. Hughes is not Makar light. We don’t have a defensman that can really eat minutes and at least hold him and his GF to under 2 points a piece.

good:

kuzmenko is gonna be a thing

podkolzin is all motor. if his puck skills improve just a little bit he'll be a real force

stillman and burroughs didn't do anything egregiously bad

bad:

miller is still a shithead

horvat seems to be sulking that he's not the big man on campus anymore

pearson, schenn, oel, boeser all look really slow

garland really needs to be more productive with the puck. great effort and great play in traffic but never accomplishes anything

ugly:

special teams still atrocious

team has no chill. you knew they were doomed when the oilers got within 1

Congrats to Kuzmenko for his first NHL goal.

Horvat and Boeser both put up embarrassing performances. I think it's time we move on from the Willie D era altogether.

Also, Miller was horrendous after it was 3-0. Missed a gimme and put up countless giveaways.

the team played good--Demko needed to make a few big saves earlier in the game
He wasn't good tonight. When they needed big saves, he didn't make them. They can't afford to have him get outplayed by Jack Campbell.

The positives tonight were Pettersson's line looking dangerous most of the game. Kuzmenko looks like a seamless fit. Miller was good as well.

Pearson is dogshit and Boeser looked terrible as well.

If this management thinks giving Horvat a contract that starts with a $7 or $8 AAV they are insane

they pinned themselves into a corner by signing Miller, they are going for the playoffs and you need Horvat for that goal. We had to clean house and rebuild, move Miller, Horvat and Boeser but yet we we re-sign 2 of the 3, went shopping for yet another 2nd line winger and not fixing our major holes.
