Not to be that guy, but Oilers look terrible
They gone from The Cupcake Streak back to about where they were before, albeit totally healthy now.

They looked really bad last night.

Not sure what the hell changed but the commitment to team D was gone last night. And it started at the top. McD has to keep his team on track and he has to do it by leading by example.

Having a rough few games and everyone comes to this thread and dogs them. Typical HFboards.
When the Oil lose.. traffic really picks up! Same 20 to 50 guys with the same comments. Feel like they must have them pretyped for the next loss.lol

Anyways, I see it as a good thing. I didn't think we were good enough to win a Cup during the streak. My fear was that they'd say everything was fine and do very little but grab a cheap forward.

Hoping this shoes we need a better RHD and a goalie who is equal or close to Skinner so they can push each other. Losing before a TDL could be good!

In fairness, Calgary looked really good last night. They took it to us and deserved that win easily. Felt like they went with the physical approach and we didn't have a very good answer.

We have some pricks but we don't have many legit scary guys that can play hockey. Kane can, Nurse can. That might be it tbh. Perry is an agitator but not a tough guy per se. Him and Kane make a hillarious combo. Drai is good at the sneaky shit but not a tough guy. And, ftr, I'm not a fan of coke machine type players but we really are not that physical.

If Smith was still our goalie, he'd be our third toughest player.lol

My vote is still Tanev.

I'm in Nashville and Ken Holland has a good trade rapport with the Preds. If he can somehow land Saros, all bets are off.

Don’t worry. When McDavid retires 10-12 years from now, most of the same vocal detractors will be talking about blessed they were to have witnessed his career.

Running 16-0-0 hot usually means you'll regress somewhat and it could be bumpy. I'm sure they'll pick it up again and then hit a rough patch again.

It is a trend that the top teams are now slumping, well a lot of them anyway.

Maybe the pre deadline time is a distraction, and it lights a fire under the bubble teams.

Or look at the hot Leafs. The talk not long ago was that management wasn't keen on going all in this year. Maybe the team has this as extra motivation

The Oilers were bound to have a slump after surging for about a 30 game stretch but they have to play better. Some really weak efforts recently.

Hey @Video Nasty I’m not hating! I’m just saying they are playing terrible at the moment.

Yeah, they’ve pretty much sucked since the win streak got snapped. Better right now than in late March/early April.

I’m thinking more of people like oh I don’t know, @VivaLasVegas, who is invisible until he is sure he can get a free kick in on the guy behind held down.

I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Jack Campbell recalled just to give him another roll at the dice. With the way they've been playing since the ASG break, and even counting a few games before the break which they deserved to lose, the Oilers might be getting just that desperate to find a solution to their problems. It's always easier to change the goalie than six or seven forwards and dmen.
A rejuvenated Campbell could be the Oilers best and only chance in goal because getting a goalie like Saros or his equal is just a pipe dream for Holland and Oiler fans. It ain't gonna happen.

If Campbell is the answer...I don't want to know the question.

Teams go thru shit stages unless you are the Bruins last year and look what happened to them .

Totally unlike, of course, all the cheap shots the Oilers fans take against the Knights.
