Skinner pre coaching change wasTheir run is seriously freaking impressive. Weren't they on something like an 8 game win streak before this one? Like 8 wins, then a loss or two, then 13 more wins? Or am I just remembering the same streak?
And it's just the win streak, it's how they're winning. Skinner in particular has completely turned his season around. I did a double take when I saw his 2.53 GAA. He had the worst numbers in the league (yes, I think worse than Campbell) at one point and is now close to breaking into the top 10 in GAA.
The whole team isn't as insanely hot offensively as they were last season either. Bouchard is on another level from any other D-man offensively over the years and McDavid is obviously his usual dominant self, but guys like Draisaitl and Nugent-Hopkins are a little quieter this year while McLeod and Foegele have stepped up in the secondary scoring department.
It'll be interesting to see what they do at the deadline.
