If they keep their winning streak going til Match, that should do it.Want to bet?
But this also applies to Demko and every other goalie that ends up making the playoffs too.I disagree. If Skinner falters they’re done.
He might not be a true number one but he is the Oilers best hope.
I never said it didn’t. The poster claimed the Oilers had a better chance because they have two goalies. But this also applies to Demko and every other goalie that ends up making the playoffs too.

I’d also say there’s a better chance of goalies like Demko, Helly, Shesterkin etc holding up given their elite status.
Demko is a fantastic goalie, who has been a band aid in years past. Van has also been remarkably healthy this year. We will see how the rest of the year unfolds.Outside of this year.....what did Demko due to warrant this "elite" status he is upholding? And when was it bestowed upon him?
Don't get me wrong....he is darn good. But outside of this year who called him "elite"?

They’ve had 2 8 or more game winning streaks with knob.As I was told by a Leaf fan they got a bump from the new coaches. A bump lol is 3 or 4 games - 11 games at that time was denial at its best. Now it's a team record of 12 and that includes all those years with Wayne and company. They have changed their style of play, congrats Oilers.
There are 2 recent ones in their top 12 and 8 are from the 80'sThey’ve had 2 8 or more game winning streaks with knob.

They are unstoppable right now but still on of the most unlikable teams in the league between the brooding McDavid, the cheap and dirty Draisaitl and the naughty Nurse.Have a chance to compete for the division if they keep it up too.
10 points behind Vegas with 4 games in hand, 12 points behind Vancouver with 3 games in hand, 5 points behind the Kings with 1 more game played.
Yea, the whole team is actually chipping in.I'm just shocked they're on a tear while McDavid is sorta underproducing (6p last 6gp, 14p in 13gp if you ignore his 5pt vs Flyers).
Of course nothing shabby, and inb4 ''underproducing if you ignore a game lolol'', but that's still definitely below his usual production.
Yea, the whole team is actually chipping in.
The ones who are stuck in the past still think that the Oilers are being carried by their PP (actually terrible in the last while) or McDrai (also both underperforming compared to their normal selves)
It's actually nice for those that are paying attention.
100% traditionally the #1 Pp stays out for 1:30ish, knob gives them 1 minute and if they dont score #2 come out. and we keep winningYea, the whole team is actually chipping in.

Nice dig at PKYea, the whole team is actually chipping in.

I think we proved last year that there was no such thing. We had like a 19 game no regulation loss streak right into the playoffs and lost in round 2 anyways.Another win under the belt. I hope they're not peaking too early. Their true worth will be revealed in May.
FTR.. not a Smith fan at all but here is his career and last 20 playoff games for the Oilers..I'm still waiting on a large number of posters to come forward and admit they were one of the ones talking about Mike Smith as an amazing playoff goalie

I think the answer is that one playoffs on covid when he stole a series. I, like you, agree he is great but I must've missed multiple Vezina nominations somewhere along the way.Outside of this year.....what did Demko due to warrant this "elite" status he is upholding? And when was it bestowed upon him?

Yup.. and f*** Holland for that one.f*** Campbells contract btw.
I agree I'm not sure how he got put in the same category as Helle who has been elite year after year. He'll need a bit more on his resume to be considered that surefire elite goalie that Helle has been. For sure....I get that. But prior to this year I never heard him referred to as "elite". So just curious when that gets bestowed and how that suddenly makes them superior in the playoffs with only 4 games under their belt.
