I really don't know what we are...
1st quarter - barely ECHL level
2nd quarter - Oilers Dynasty level (even beat every win streak ever from 80's Oiler, Habs and Leafs)
What the hell is the 3rd quarter?lol
I'd settle for .600 hockey the rest of the way and a few TDL acquisitions to shore up for a playoff run.

yes. The Oilers are hurting my feelings right now, so I say they suck.
Not from a competitive hockey standpoint though, far from it.
Hope this clears up the confusion, and hopefully no hard feelings.

they did when we were playing like ass earlier in the year. April 13th should be a fun tuneup for both squads. McDavid, Ekholm, and McLeod all being healthy and Skinner finding his game have been very good for us.

Maybe but the aggregate over those 2 games was what? 14 goals against and 4 for? I can't remember but they were scoring touchdowns on us. AND, to their credit, they are still flying high.
I get all the arguments and agree with them ... especially how many guys they have shooting at double, quadruple and triple their normal shooting rates. However, they are a great team! I expect a regression to the mean but they look legit to me. Currently, they are ahead of us in the standings and they kicked our asses. That is my current reality till we meet again OR catch them in the standings.

Of course the Oilers are going to start losing games. My biggest hope is that this new style and level of play is the baseline they can continue to maintain whether they win or lose because it is a very sustainable way to win games and the type of game that can win the Stanley Cup if you have the right roster in place.
In reality this 12 game win streak, this 20-3 streak means nothing. Even when they were 2-9-1, the only thing I cared about as an Oilers fan was winning the Stanley Cup. All this bragging I see by Canuck fans, no one cares if the Canucks have the best record in the league or the Oilers have the best record in the league, it means nothing. For the majority of Oilers fans, players, coaches, management, the city. Absolutely nothing matters except winning the Cup, anything else is a failure regardless of how they started the season.

We have weaknesses and are not addressing them. 12 games in 20 nights... who is playing with Skinner? Is that Ceci getting Top 3 minutes? Cool, same D core that got anhilated by the Avs and Knights? Cool.
And yeah, right now the Nuck, Jets and Oilers all look legit. I hope Leafs turn it around as I think they could do well and, believe it or not, I want the Flames to make it too! The Canadian Cup drought sucks!

vancouvers success this year doesnt surprise me, demko being healthy gives them the ability to steal games even when they dont play great. vegas is banged up and the oilers will catch them asap. it will be edm and van fighting for 1st place by mid feb to the end of the season.

The thing is.. to my eye he really does look like he's improved. He's always been great but he's taken a step to my eyes. I also thought more passenger but he is more than just that this season to me. Curious if his second half is as strong as first half because first half was a beaut for him.

Uhh other than one 5-point game and one 2-point game, he has scored 1 point a game during that streak. So basically he has been the most efficient Oilers player scoring-wise in 1 game during the 12 game winning streak they have. Weird as I keep hearing that he's singlehandedly carrying the team and other Oilers players are tire fire?
I'm just sick of Oilers fans and other people throwing everyone other than McDavid under the bus. It's a quality team overall, not one player magically carrying a tire fire.
And yeah, Aho has been better during last 12 games than McDavid. My point is that McDavid has been just an average star player during that 12-game winning streak and Oilers have still been able to maintain it.

In the first game they were clearly better but not 8-1 better. Everything went in.
In the second game the Oilers won the shots 40-16 and lost the game 3-4.
Those two games happened to be a microcosm of the Oilers start and the Canucks entire season.
